Having Trouble With Your Sitemap Registration?
Hi, WA. This is a quick reference for those who are having a little trouble getting their sitemap to work. Here is a nice free site that will correct most errors. As you know google doesn't have the time. Below is the URL where to go. We all know sometimes the easy way delivers non-completion also, but here is a remedy to a small problem. It's works I used it myself today.
1) Change frequency: to always
2) Priority: to Automatically Calculated Priority
3) Then click start

Another tool to use and shared by another WA family member. To all of our success. Much appreciated.
Hi Pparadise, looks like I'm the first one to leave a comment. What the heck is a sitemap and what's it for? I'm on Level 3 of Bootcamp. This is beyond me, lol! But I'm sure I'll need it somewhere on this journey with WA. I'll keep it in my back pocket! Kind regards, ~ Becky
The sitemap tells you how much traffic you are getting from google and keeps you in good hands with google.

Thanks for sharing. How do we upload the sitemap file into the domain root folder of our site?

Hey Mark,
This video may offer you the help you seek: https://youtu.be/aRoI4qRWSNg
Thanks very much. Quite technical, but I'll work my way through it.

Mark, I have a question for you ... Where are you in the Certificate Courses?
Kyle teaches a method that automates the sitemap being created and updated so you won't have upload each and every time you update or add content to your website.
If you are using All-In-One SEO you can update your sitemap there. You have to edit the post and under SEO there is a link to Feature Manager. Make sure the sitemap option is Activated. It will build the sitemap for you plus you can edit it.
Once activated, the XML Sitemap option will appear under All-In-One SEO. Take that option to see your sitemap, edit it, name it, plus you'll see a lot of other options.
Then you go to the Google Webmaster Tools and point it to your sitemap and there you can tell it to upload whatever name you gave it. The default is "sitemap.xml"
Thanks Trish, is it inherent within the site or a part of the training I haven't seen yet? I'm at course 3 Lesson 1 and must finish a post before I move on- writer's block so soon! :)
Appreciate your help
Mark
If you follow Kyle's instructions on installing your sitemap Mark, it will be automatically updated with each and every update you make.
Try not to panic when you get writer's block. Most times it's caused by trying to hard. Go for a walk or do some yard work ... and allow your mind to mull over your niche.
Things to think about:
What would someone want to know about ____
What would they Google search for that would find my topic...
In the training Kyle will suggest you create Google Alerts for your niche. Make sure you DO IT ... because they are a great means to help you select something to write about.
I guess the Google Alerts will be covered in upcoming training. Thanks for your advice, I really appreciate it.
All the best,
Mark
