Hi everyone,
I didn't think about it till my son asked me: "Is there another way to earn money with your website beside WA, affiliate programs, email list, video? Because yo
Hi Odile, I don't have anything to suggest because other members have come up with most answers I think. You can promote your own product. It can be digital, as in eBooks, or physical.
It's so nice that your son is interested in your online work. Maybe he can join you as you grow your business, and help you with earning an income online
Best wishes to your both :)
Hi Valerie,
Thank you very much for your comment and information.
I learned a lot with this question from my son.
I consider your idea to join me, at the moment he is under 18 years, maybe in the future of he wants.
Again thank you.
Odile
Many affiliate programs stick to the "age of consent". However, some will allow a kid to join with a parent or guardian's written blessing.
That said, there is no age limit for starting a website and getting some tech skills under his belt. He could discuss video games, his day in general, blog about his personal thoughts with no need of even TRYING to monetize. Just being a kid.
The WordPress system is a great system to begin working with JS, CSS, PHP, HTML5, MYSQL, frameworks in general, learning about standards, and other technologies like change management (GIT for instance).
Having a young, resident, loyal technician at your disposal could be an unexpected synergy that results in you both developing life skills that neither of you expected.
Sounds like a smart kid ...might be worth setting up a single domain, not giving him access to WA but giving him the admin password just to that site, (that you could always override through your WA Site Manager) and seeing "what happens".
It's an idea..just sayin' :)
I liked it a lot, wow. Thanks for this good idea, I will speak with him and try to convince him.
Many thanks.
I mean local marketing in generally. Something like this: Running a Successful Local Marketing Business
Some excellent suggestions already provided, but in a few words, there are sooooo many ways to make money online...
Some will dovetail with what you are building with affiliate marketing, i.e. AdSense, while others may require a totally different approach/method...
I think it comes down to how much time and drive you have, as well as resources...
By the way, what a good question from your son! That he is showing interest means you may have a future entrepreneur on your hands (a good thing!)...
Cheers!
Dave : )
Thank you very much Dave,
All these methods are the key to make money online, and according to my niche, which is a blog, the other great idea is an e-book mail list.
By the way, yes my son is really amazing and he was worried about what I will gain with all these efforts. Maybe when he will be 18 I will ask him if he wants to join WA.
Thanks again.
Odile,
The only limit to making money online is your imagination.
There's:
Affiliate marketing
Drop shipping
Making your own product (e-book, crochet afghans, facebook game...)
Providing a service (proofreading, writing, programming, creating websites, research... )
Ads (including AdSense)
Creating a member driven web system (like WA)
The list simply goes on and on.
If you can imagine it, it can be monetized, if it can be monetized then - you win.
The question is...do you have the imagination, and then the cleverness to monetize?
Stick to the courses, pay your dues (meaning put in the time to learn all that you can). Opportunity tends to knock at just the right time ;)
Thank you very much. I need to develop my imagination, and I do understand that business is not so simple like that.
Thanks again
Yes, there IS video and adsense. There is also setting up a consulting forum. You can check into plugins or code that will allow you to set up a membership website. That would make the entire thing a very wide extension of your passion!
Selling your own ebooks, software, and other materials is also another idea...
Mickeyb
Hi Mickey, thank you for your answer.
So, it is not just to build a website, you need to do all of this in order to earn. I'm really glad he asked me this question.
So, at the moment I don't have email list, e-books and either software, that means I need to create at least one of these things?
Many thanks.
Odile
NO, I am NOT saying you need to do any of the sort! Many, Many people focus on their website and their affiliate product or two. This makes most people a lot of money and you, as you think about it and your child gets around to asking you, again, move into other stuff, also.
Another hint? Get him to go online and research the programs and information about all of that stuff! Offer him a little 'piece of the action'
Mickeyb
Ok, thank you very much Mickey.
I got your point, and about my son that's a great idea. I will ask him to do that.
Thanks again for your time.

There are many different ways, Odile and I am sure some of our WA "experts" will be more than happy to share those with you.
Wayne
Hi Wayne,
Exactly, I have it now more clear thanks to my son and WA community.
