I want to transfer my hosting away from WA as my membership has ran out and I no longer use it. Do I have to resubscribe to transfer my domains away?

I hope these answers help you, Peter!

Jeff

You'll need to migrate your websites to another hosting provider before your subscription expires.

I have full instructions on my website but I can't give you the link here as it would violate WA's policies. Search Google for "move website from wealthy affiliate" (without the quotes) and you'll find the article with my name on it near the top of the results page.

If I were you, I would back up each of my websites to my laptop/PC. You could use a WP plugin to do this. One is called "all in one wp migration". A WA member wrote this blog here in WA: Copy everything to your laptop/PC than you are not dependent on WA or anyone else.

There is also import/export functionally in your WP dashboard. I would also advise copying everything you can to your laptop/PC. Note that it may not copy images.

AFTER doing the above, I would ask WA support for their advise/help on this. I believe they offer to do this after you have left (up to 6 months I believe) however you are way better and way smarter to get the word straight from them. Otherwise it is rumor and may not be completely accurate.

I don't know how you can contact WA support if you are not currently a premium member to ask them to move your websites over to your new host.

You can move domain names from one domain registrar to another once you satisfy certain rules. Each domain registrar has slightly different rules. I moved domains a while back (nothing to do with WA) and I wrote a blog about it on my website.

I have full instructions on my website but I can't give you the link here as it would violate WA's policies. Search Google for "Moving Domain to Another Registrar? Lessons Learned" (with the quotes). This may or may not show my article depending on Google's mood. :)

Good luck.

once you have left you get no support from support( why should you ...you are not paying for the service)
after you have left you do get access to sitedomains for a short while to move your site ( either changing the nameservers or transferring)
another point is that all in one wp migration has changed....you no longer get the facility to import files above 128mb - so if your site backup is above this then you will need to upload...but hang on that is a premium only feature....
so this plugin has become a paid feature frontend....
i found this out a few days ago when i moved hosting and backed up my site ( 800mb)
now i have a file i am being held ransom for....
personally i would not promote all in one wp migration and am looking for another free backup tool - i have tried wpclone and it is a bit buggy.....
phil

The 128MB limit will be based on your web servers settings, but you can increase this to 512MB for free. Either by altering the PHP settings, or by adding the free extension (https://import.wp-migration.com/) (https://help.servmask.com/knowledgebase/install-instructions-for-file-extension/), however, I know this won't help you with the 800MB file, unless splitting up Media, Plugins and Themes will get each of the 3 or 4 files below 512MB. There is a hack you can apply to the plugins constants.php file, but I haven't tested this at WA yet.

If I was going to move hosting I would perform a "dry run" before hand to iron out the stuff you found out the hard way.

The import function in the free AIO WP Migration plugin does warn you about 64M being a limit which is probably fine for lots of websites, however not for yours. And I truly feel your pain.

I reached out to WA Support a while back because of this limit as it affects my manual backups. The backup happens however the import function does not like a file being above 64M which is problematic. I did not want to be held "hostage" should something "bad" happen.

I opened a ticket with WA Support and was given a solution. This solution is okay for me as long as the file that the free AIO WP Migration plugin is below 128M.

You might consider opening a ticket with WA Support outlining your problem/concerns if you have not already.

I do know that some web hosts will offer to perform the move for you if you give them access. Some will do that for free to get your business. Maybe reaching out to your new web host to see what options they provide may be an idea (you may already have done this). Maybe letting them know that you have a backup of your site using the AIO WP Migration plugin and that the file is xM. They may be able to work with that, if you put that file in a place that they can grab it (maybe DropBox).

Other options include using FTP (maybe using Filezilla) to copy your WP website folders to your personal laptop/PC. But that is messy. And that does not catch the content that is in your WP database.

There are plugins that can remove earlier versions of your posts/pages. I use the "Optimize Database after Deleting Revisions" WP plugin.

Use at your own risk however I have never had a problem with it. If you edit existing posts on a regular basis you might have 20 versions of the post, keeping the last 3 might be enough. The other 17 versions are taking up unnecessary space. And if you multiply that 1 post by how many posts/pages you have that may be a huge saving.

Each theme you use also uses space. So if you don't delete unused themes on a regular basis and you tried a good number of them over time. The problem here is that you lose your existing unused settings for those themes if you delete them (which means that if your ever use those themes again, you may find yourself reinventing the wheel which may be time consuming...)

Same idea for plugins.

I hope that your move with your 800M website ends up okay.

unfortunately not hosted here in the first place - at bluehost...so no backups.....only what i created.
i have found a utility to unpack the aiowpmigration file ...
so now have all the parts and need ot learn how to put them back together at the new host.....
thanks for your suggestions, unfortunately with the move it was shift the site from one place to another then load up the plugin only to find i couldn't restore it or upload it.....so the original site is gone bar the backup....
have altered the htaccess to allow 512mb and found an old backup, but it still is not playing ball....
working on it....

Oh, that's horrible. I really feel for you.

Here's an idea.

1. Create a new empty site at WA. (use a subdomain - maybe "feignerone" or whatever within the siterubix dot com)
Use the default everything. That should create a website within a few seconds.

2. Try to raise your WA support ticket when you "guessimate" that Carson is around. You want assistance for the new "feignerone" dot siterubix dot com website.

3. Tell them you have an old backup, where you used the All In One WP Migration plugin and tell them the size of that file (the original one for the 800M website) and explain that you are having issues restoring it to your new "feignerone" dot siterubix dot com website.

4. Explain some of the things you already did (at a high level).
"I tried my option 1 (a few words explaining that), no luck. I tried my option 2 (a few words explaining that), no luck. Option 3 (or 4 or 5) is to reach out to you guys to see if you can help. Any ideas?"

You might be lucky. They might be able to help you. Not saying that they will, just saying that you might be lucky.

Good luck. Let us know how you get on.

Sorry to hear that you will be leaving WA, but yes, you will need to be an active member to access your website, so that you can migrate the contents to another web hosting provider. If your domain name(s) are registered via WA, then you should still be able to access these to initiate a transfer to another registrar, but this would only be the domain name(s), not the websites themselves.

It seems a lot of the products in my niche are running out of stock with only 1 left available. These are high end products between $500-1000. Is there a way to check if they w

Yes I would, such high end products are often on back order, and people are willing to wait to receive them. Most people understand this, and you won't lose a sale by telling them.

Should I link to products that are running out of stock?

Where did the WA keyword tool go? I had a bunch of keywords saved there

This free keyword tool has been phased out, you now need to use Jaaxy Lite.

damn that's a shame I didn't get to save my keyword list

Here, your keyword lists can still in fact be found at the following link:
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/kw_research

Awesome thank you!

Maybe left menu,
Tools
there is a link called Keyword Lists

Jaaxy is the new (better) keyword tool

It's on the left side of your home page. Under the Affiliate Boot camp.

For the term "best golf irons 2017" Moz has search volume at 201-500 and WA has it at 1116. Why is there such a big difference?

No keyword tool is perfect I would imagine. But I have always used Jaaxy and haven't had any problems. But either way, both tools show that the term has decent traffic.

Yeah you're right Josh. Still solid traffic either way I suppose.

Hi Peter!

Jaaxy has the results listed below. I don't know if you used the WA tool or Jaaxy.

I would trust that over Moz. I have great success with the WA resources in choosing ranking keywords.

Hi Howard thanks for commenting. I used WA keyword planner do you think there is much of a difference between it and Jaaxy?

Jaaxy and WA give exactly the same metrics, but of course, Jaaxy has way more features when digging deeper.
