When creating posts in Block Editor, is there a feature that I can use to accent letters of foreign language words?

It's your keyboard gives you them.

Thanks, Geoffrey,
I can use that as well.

I just use my keyboard when writing, for example, to put an accent on the letter e, I just press Ctrl + Alt + E to get é.

Hey Chrystopher,

Do you mean you can not simply copy and paste an é into the Block Editor like you could the Classic Editor?

Thanks, Chrystopher.
That works for me.

How do you get accented vowels, Trish?

Hey Trish, no, that isn’t what I meant, as I was referring to writing unique content and how to type the letter é.

You can of course copy & paste into the Block Editor, but please be sure that you only copy unique content.

I’m actually relying from my mobile phone today, and it makes it even easier to insert accents, such as:

è é ê ë ē ė ę

à á â ä æ ã å ā

Etc :-)

Hey Paul,

Whenever I need an accented vowel, I do a Google search and then very carefully, copy & paste that vowel wherever I want it to appear.

However, I use the Classic Editor as yet (though I have experimented with the Block Editor), so I wasn't certain whether the option to copy and paste was taken away from users.

Hey Chrystopher, that IS good to know. Thank YOU!

I understand that hackers can target the vulnerabilities of a WP theme and it has been suggested to remove the Theme Description from my page footer. Is there a painless method

Hi, do you mean the credit note ?

You can use Remove Footer Credit, simple html and it is gone.

However, it would always be wise purchase the full version because you'd benefit from the extra features a theme can offer, get updates and support from their respective developers. And also pay premium for their work developing something amazing.

However, if something totally different, please advise.

Did you purchase your theme or is it a free theme? Removal of footer copyright and others is an option of the paid version when theme authors offer a free and paid version.
You could remove it, but it's up to you.

Tom

A free theme. I am still exploring this idea. Thanks, Tom.

You’re welcome Paul!

try using siteorigin css plugin to switch it off
this is only part of the protection...
there are other plugins to 'hide' all the other stuff - mostly by renaming the folders - which is manual process
is it worth it...
have you had a problem up till now ....
and with hte protection this platform has....
no guarantees but....
good luck
phil

Thank you, Phil, for the reply.
I have to be careful when I wander into the "techie" minefield.
I could lose my shoe or my hat! lol.

maybe this is a bit of training i could do with the css plugin....

Good idea.

Hi Paul great to see you. This should be under Customize and then Theme Setting, then Footer or something similar, I did it some time ago and forgot details. At the same place, you can edit things to add a Copyright statement.

Thanks, Jovo.
How's the climbing coming along.

Is it possible to sell a domain name and keep all of your content?

If you are selling a domain name, it is best that you take out all your personal story with your name and put it into your new website. The other stuffs stay. The reason why most people would buy a domain name is because of the contents and attention it's getting. I've learned hat people who are buying a domain name will want the e-mail subscribers as well. Most likely a domain name is worthless if it's missing contents and e-mails that bring in revenues. All the best!

Thanks, John, for your advice and instruction.

Hey Paul,

You certainly can.

What you may find easiest to do is to create a new site now where you want your content to be hosted from and then export all from the site you want to sell your domain registration.

Here's a video to show you how: If you have no idea as to what site you want to use, I recommend that you create a SiteRubix site and import all of your content into it. This way, you will KNOW that you have EVERYTHING from the domain that you wish to sell the registration to.

If you do NOT want that SiteRubix site to become known for your content, then all you need to do is go to Settings > Reading, check mark "Discourage search engines from indexing this site" and click on the Save Changes button. This way, this site SHOULD NOT be indexed. (see screen print below...)

Your content will remain hidden until you are ready to move it to another domain.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thanks, Trish, for the link and instruction.

What are you going to do with those already ranked contents? I assume you can sell the domain.

Thanks, Anusuya.
I am looking at all my options and all angles.

Paul,

Jeannette might be right, but I have changed a domain name and site support moved all my content to the new domain, and I kept the old domain up with a re-direct for thirty days before deleting the site there. Then I was free to offer the domain for sale.

Jeff

Thanks, Jeff.
I appreciate your thoughts and methods.

You're welcome, Paul! Good luck!

Jeff

Usually it is a package deal if you've built the site out. Google would not respond well to all the original content disappearing, plus you could easily run into duplicate content penalties for any place you moved it to.

Another angle to consider, Jeanine.
Thank you.

Are search engines sending me to the website OR to the keyword?

Each article on your website should be based on a keyword. So people will land on that specific page/post based on what they search for.

The way your question is phrase, it sounds like "keywords" and "your website" are two different things, but they are the same. When people search a keyword and land on your article, they are on your website.

Not sure if that helps or not - hopefully it answers your question Paul!

Thanks for responding, Nathaniell.
Everything is relative in a way.
If I wrote an "excellent post" on beer, on a website about "online work from home", they would come there because of the "beer",lol, and not "the online income".
That's why I've asked this question.
Your first sentence describes it exactly.
Thank you.
Paul

Good evening my friend when a person puts in a keyword in, Google will pull up results for them. Then they decided which results they want to look at, they may look at one they may look at a hundred. Then you have people that come from social media, because of your content, which I pull the majority of my visits through social media. I hope that answers your question. May Prosperity be always with you.

Thanks, Earl, for the kind words.

We're family Paul we help each other

It is because of the keyword they are searching and it happened they found it on your website.

Thanks, Jimmy.

Well, if you sear h a particular keyword, it will bring up results that are on websites so by searching for the keyword, they get directed to your website

Thanks, Marketa.

Paul,

Visitors use keywords for their searches.
This leads them to your post or page on your website.

Cassi

Thanks, Cassi.

You are welcome, Paul.
