Hi Patrick, Like Carson has mentioned install and activate the classic editor plugin. In the settings you can opt to have the option of using either layout when building pages and posts.
Hope this helps :)
Why has wordpress 5.0 changed the editor so drastically?

Hi Patrick, yes as of WordPress 5.0 the Gutenberg editor has been made the default. We've got mixed feelings about it. Although it gives a user control to build "fancy" content, it's not all the intuitive or easy to use for bloggers.
Thankfully, there is an option to install the classic editor for WordPress.
The plugin is called "Classic Editor" and it's the official plugin maintained by the WordPress development team. This will give you back the classic editing ability that you're after.
For all new websites that we are installing here at WA - we're packaging them with this plugin ACTIVATED.

Has anyone been successful in using Amazon Mobile Popover Ads? I followed their instructions for copy/pasting the code snippet into my footer.php file; however, all I see when

Can someone help with how to use amazon mobile pop-over ads?

I noticed that some of my Amazon widgets are no longer supported, so I attempted to substitute Amazon banner ads on the sidebar of my page and insert an Amazon Native Ad toward
Thank you Tommy, Marion and Cory! You're all correct, it was indeed my ad-blocker that was the problem. You all have saved me a lot of additional time -- thanks again!
I guess it does raise the question, however, as to how one can alert their visitors to the fact that they are missing content if their ad-blocker is enabled. Perhaps this is in the training, but if any of you have suggestions, that would be great.

Patrick
I just got a paid plugin as part of a package that is supposed to address this but I haven't tested it yet so I can't say whether it works. There are things out there like this. You may have seen 'ads' on sites that say something along the lines of 'You're using an adblocker, please support us here' or something similar while using your adblocker. So it's doable, but I can't give you a more specific answer for sure.
Thanks Cory! I'll look into it further. Good to know that there are solutions out there ;)
This is what I see. If you see something different then try a different browser or turn off the adblock.
OHH!!! Thanks you just reminded me. I don't know if this would be the case with you Patrick, but I have an adblocker up which may be why I couldn't see it. I went to a different browser and I see what MarionBlack sees.
LOL I forget about that all the time when I'm developing sites.
Yeah your iframe code for the amazon thing is off. Take a screen shot of the code pasted into the widget box so I can see what it says. WP maybe auto formatting or something.

Has anyone had problems with embedded widgets or images lately? Some Amazon widgets I had embedded on my sidebars, within the IntelliWidget plugin, were workin
Welcome to the joy that is WordPress updates. I always wait 4 weeks after any update ...until they sort out the plugins that don't function. I'm sure you'll find the plugins are now incompatible with new wp. Give them time and they'll update
You're welcome. The plugins you mention are highly popular so I imagine the developers will sort any issues quickly. Best wishes
Jason,
You're probably correct. I'm half tempted to try to roll back to the prior version of WP, but I'm not sure it will be worth the effort since, as you mentioned they'll probably sort it out eventually (hopefully soon).
Thank you for your reply.
