I recently have to change my keyword due to too much competition, and also went through my content to change everything about
When you change your targeted keyword, it takes significantly longer for Google to recognize the changes. This is because they have already analyzed the content and determined which keywords they believe are important on the page.
If you're trying to convince them to change their mind, it's going to take a while.
Hi Nyaaba, I would think that even though you have changed your keyword, if the site was indexed and ranked on Google, you are probably getting traffic from the old site which is still out there. It might take awhile for the page to get indexed again and for it to start appearing in the searches with the new keyword. Just my thoughts on it. Thanks and have a great day.

Do you have images with the old keyword in the alt text
Did you look at the text coding. Sorry, I'm sure someone has a more definitive answer.
