WA Top SEO Factors Infographic

Before the holidays I mentioned that I was going to post some infographic demos that I was working on but I was postponing until after the holidays were over. Well they’re over, so here we go. I have a little over 50 days to go before I can start posting training. Some of that training is going to include how to use open source programs to make really simple infographics. The infographics that I’m posting now are demos for what I’m going to show in the training, so if you like something specific, let me know and I’ll put that to the front of the queue.

A couple of things about using graphics on your site. First, it’s been talked about elsewhere on WA that images help with user engagement on your site, so I’m not going to rehash that. In addition to this, images have the potential to show up in search results and potentially drive traffic to your site. An interesting infographic also has the potential to be shared on social media and other sites providing links and attribution back to your site. Finally, if you produce your infographic as a PDF you can embed links directly into the infographic further driving traffic to your site or to affiliate links.

This first demo is pretty simple. I originally got the idea from an infographic that used quotes from famous people along with their images. That would be an excellent way to use this type of graphic. Instead of just putting a list of quotes up in a blog post, you can create something like this that’s eye catching as well. Another use would be to create something like a testimonial graphic for a product you’re promoting or created.

The content of this graphic was pulled from a question I asked about what members thought were the top SEO ranking factors. I used the content here because it made a good demo. If you want to see that discussion or weigh in with your own factors you can do so here:

What ranking factors do you consider most important?

Good stuff, thanks. Looking forward to your training. Tom

Thanks Tom

Spot the onpage guy!

LOL you feeling a little out in the cold there?

hahahaha gotta keep it WA friendly! My other hats will remain hidden so i'll keep the white one on for now :P

Oh we're definitely having off book chats later. :)

That looks awesome this should be a good training course.

Thanks Terry.

Really great Cory, I look forward to the training. I do post quotes on music and I have been using Canva to create the image background I have been using. Trying this sounds exciting.

I've heard about Canva and haven't gotten into it yet. Having just had a long talk with Rich about copyright issues though, I'd have to dig a lot deeper into their terms of use and copyright protections. I'm not sure they would be something I'd be comfortable recommending based one what I've read so far.

I like the graphic. Explaining each item and how they may be used would make a good training, Cory.

That's an interesting proposition Rick. I don't consider SEO to be one of my biggest strengths because I don't play on the same level that the guys in that list do. However, I could probably do a training just explaining what the different factors are, and leave it to people to decide what they want to spend their time on. Thanks. I'll look into doing that.

Good tips and great members.

Agree on both counts. :)

This is WAY cool!!!

"In addition to this, images have the potential to show up in search results and potentially drive traffic to your site."

I had no idea!!!

It's interesting, I read a post today that challenged readers to learn something new today. If something seems a bit too tech heavy for me, I tend to either star it for later (rarely reading it later) or just delete. It's really an endless supply of information, it an be overwhelming, so I just block it for later. But I'm really glad that I read this post!

Thanks for the info, Corey. I know you got 2 more months before you can give a training, but I look forward to being front and center. If I could, I'd gladly transfer my training privileges to you, since I'm still pondering....

Thanks again!!!

LOL yeah I've actually had people offer to post my training for me just so they could get it sooner. Unfortunately most of it is just in the planning phases, since there's no rush at the moment. I'll start building it all out when I start getting closer to being able to post, so that it's all ready to just be put up.

I haven't decided what I'm going to do about some of the more technical training I could do. However, the training like this for the images I want to make as simple as possible. It's not just about people's ability to learn it, but also the ability to implement it. Having a simple system for kicking out graphics in 15 minutes is way more valuable for most people's niches than being able to create the most amazing graphics ever but having to spend 6 hours for every graphic.

I'm glad you enjoyed the post and learning something new every day sounds like an excellent plan for all of us. :)

Well, whatever you do Corey, I'm sure it'll be amazing.

I think you're going to turn me into a groupie, lol.

LOL Mel and I have had a conversation about this actually. There is a reason I put up the Before you take advice from anyone post. I can probably handle a groupie, but that's probably my limit.

I have a thing about some of the "so and so said this so it must be true" here on WA. It seems like sometimes fans can turn into zealots a little too quick. I'm glad you enjoy my stuff, but feel free to call me out if I ever put up junk as well. :)

Oh trust me Corey, I'm usually the "bad cop" amongst my friends, so don't worry, if something sounds a bit "off", I'll mention it.

But in all seriousness, when I say "groupie" that's just my way of saying I'm both impressed and respect your knowledge. I can understand how some people could hang on yours and Mel's every word, but I've never had that type of personality.

I have my "favorites" you're becomming one of them because of the way you present information. No more no less....so you can cancel the Order of Protection, lol.

LOL Good to know. Based on your comments to my posts, I figured that was the case. And I do have and appreciate the "regulars" that read my content and post great comments to them or even just "hey I really like your stuff. keep it up." It let's me know I'm going in the right direction.

Honestly, I'd rather have a small dedicated readership of people that appreciate what I write for what it is than all of WA reading my posts and "hanging on every word." So thank you for being one of those regulars and I'll try to keep putting out stuff worth coming back for. :)

Cool...thanks, Corey...

Your Welcome.

Good INFO and great GRAPHIC :) looking forward to your training.

Thanks. I actually made it the hard way and learned my lesson. They way I'll do it in the training will be much easier, and something like this will be pretty quick to throw together.

This is valuable... Thanks for sharing, Corey!

Thanks Gautum. :)
