Is posting content/tutorials here at WA that get indexed in Google, still a viable way to gain credit for WA referrals?

MrShare,

So I've actually not been gaining much traffic through my sites just yet as they are in early development. So while in that stage I think it's really great to leverage your content creation here. While I have yet to receive any commissions from this content, I know it helps when you post quality questions and discussions at WA. I have noticed I am receiving clicks already and through Google Analytics it does not look like the click throughs are coming from my site. I'd say WA is the best resource to leverage for me right now.

Thanks for sharing your experience Dalton, much appreciated :-) I'm planning on creating a tutorial site, so I'm just trying to weigh the benefits on posting my content here as compared to posting them on my own site and advertising WA on it.

If it's a WA based tutorial it would be awesome to have something like that based here in the community. Definitely leverage the classrooms already in place. If the tutorials are quality I'm sure the community would be excited to view them and employ your thoughts and methods!

Hey Everyone,

Is there a site area where members post their sites link to the ones they built here at WA? Does anyone post their commissions or what affiliate programs a

Not that I have seen. But, I am also a new member, 3 months. I am a member of another travel site. Great Escapes publishing. I am trying to build my site here and link to that. Hard to do when competing. But, I want to to travel blogs. That will eventually end up in magazines.

If anyone is interested in having me write a detailed review of their niche website, please message me with your site link and what you wish to improve (site traffic, visitor retention, affiliate revenues, etc).

Please note that a steady TRAFFIC FLOW will always be needed prior to gaining a steady affiliate revenue stream.

Content building is the key to this, so if you don't have any or if your content is not highly relevant within your niche, this is the direction my review will take.

Search engines DO NOT CARE what your website looks like, so until you have a large amount of visitors, content should always be your main focus, especially if your time is limited.

Unless your site is already well developed and generating a large amount of traffic, I too will not put much focus on your design other than minor tweaks that may help you convert better.

If you have 20+ pages of decent content already, at times minor tweaks such as: ensuring you are using low-hanging fruit keywords in your post titles / links and domain name can greatly improve your search engine rankings..

i.e. catchy phrases are only cool if people search for them... and otherwise are a detriment to your site traffic flow.

Do note that I will post all reviews in my blog here at WA to draw more attention to sharing of pertinent revenue affecting information among members here WA, but will also link to tutorials to fix anything I suggest improving upon.

If you wish, we can leave your site name/link out of the review, but I will need to add some screenshots of content areas to showcase any problem areas I find.

I will also do my best to provide links to competitors in your niche whose design flow / site features and advertising techniques I think you can benefit from and hopefully allow you to work towards as you grow your business.

Please note that I will be VERY HONEST in my review of your site, but any criticism I offer will be constructive, as well as partnered with suggestions / solutions on how to make changes.

Hopefully the community as a whole DOES NOT AGREE with everything I say, and adds further suggestions in the comments area of your review to give a broader perspective of how you can improve both your website and your website profits.

The idea after all is that your review leads to a group consensus, and that I am just a facilitator of the discussion.

On that note, I will bid you adieu and look forward to helping you along your path to financial success .

Cheers!

Very few people want to share their websites here. Reasons are many but primarily revolve around privacy and spam control. Example: If someone is running an Adsense and this Adsense gets hundreds of clicks on a given day after publishing it here, Google will most likely ban that account.

I find the Adsense clickbomb argument moot, as there are plugins to protect to against this and are something you should consider using regardless of WA members knowing your site link.

https://wordpress.org/plugins/ad-invalid-click-protector/

For privacy reasons and spam control, yes, it's a legitimate concern, but one I wouldn't worry about myself...since the spammers have already found me and I already require the use of a spam filter.

But what if we could have a sharing forum here on WA where you could decide "which members" you would allow access to website link or whatever you want to share.

I'm not saying that you have to share every detail with "everyone person, but simply have a much easier method to share with the masses.

When sharing, if you provide enough info, no website link is needed.

i.e. I wrote long reviews about this particular product(s) in this niche, which I sell via this affiliate (Amazon). It has worked very well for me and is much more effective (300%) than what I tried previously (example one and % or stats, example two and % or stats), etc.

If you figure out a new method to get more site traffic or more social followers that again is proving to be bring in more income,...again what's the harm in sharing the exact method, if you can leave your website/social accounts anonymous.

i.e. after I used "this method", I attracted 1,000 new social followers in three months and then used this method to market them, making myself an % increase in website profit.

Another idea for privacy, is we provide "anonymous" info so that no one knows the username of the person who shared the info, again unless you want them to (hand-approved by user or by a group of users you already have assigned to have access to this knowledge)

I'm not saying that we need to share every detail with every person, but just promote sharing as a whole among our community.

-=-

For every problem, aside from A LACK OF SHARING, there is a solution to keep privacy and most other concerns at bay.

This is what this thread is about, finding a common ground so that we are all comfortable sharing information.

One of the other reasons is simply intent (aside from privacy and spam control). Whatever you do, how much ever you explain, the majority of the membership here simply wants to keep things private. There's very little that can be done under such circumstances.

I tend to disagree with your assessment that very little can be done. In my mind, EVERY potential problem, also has a potential solution.

I have noted your opinion on the matter though and will not try to persuade you over to dark side ;-).

I'll will however, wait for the majority to speak (or not speak) before I draw conclusions on what the WA community wants or doesn't want.

In the meantime, I'm interested in keeping in touch and sharing my finds with the minority who feel this type community experience will be beneficial in reaching their goals... and quite possibly, greatly speed up the time it takes for them to reach them.

This is a reasonable request. I've read many success stories on here and I've always been curious what works and what doesn't.

I get excited when I read a success story and then find no link to their website. That's great, but what use is sharing success if nobody knows how it's done?

I think you've made some interesting points.

I'm glad you think so Craig! I see so many posts talking about accomplishments and almost all them have very little in terms of detail.

I get it, it's hard not to be protective when you think you've discovered gold, but the fact is, we can all learn from each other if we pool our knowledge and we can benefit from it.

If you think it's worthy, please invite other people to this discussion, as without 100+ interested parties, I doubt we'll ever attract Kyle or Carson's attention to the fact they need add sharing features like this to the website.

I'm doing my best to do my part, but any and all help along the way would appreciated. Cheers :-)

I agree, there is enough money for all of us to get a nice share.

Exactly. The WA community has a decent number of people, but there are over "one billion" websites on the web and most likely several million (or more) are niche related. In the scheme of things, WA member sites are just drop in the bucket and greater competition exists outside of our little bubble.

Usually, people put their website links under their profile. These can be accessed by anyone.

Some do, but I'm surprisingly finding less than 20% and that include links I gathered by twitter and facebook feeds where I found the link.

What would be nice if they be access all at once, rather than me having to check 100 profiles just to find 20 links.

Some don't want their websites listed here, so they leave them off. I agree there should be a central pool. But one of the thing that we do have here is site comment and feedback. Those people who want to be seen can be seen there. It's worth checking out because they are the ones wanting to be seen.

I'm more into having Kyle and Carson creating a Success Story feature where people can opt-in to share whatever they want to and people don't have to search high and low just to find some decent examples to help them get started...and more importantly, to keep them motivated.

The more successful people, the more member renewals, so Kyle and Carson should running this train, not me... I'm just the guy in the back giving it a push.

One option might be that if a user does not share something such as a website link to their success stories, than they cannot see other people's website links. It's only fair that it's give and take, and not just take.

How many free membership fall to the wayside, how many paid member simply give up. The courses and certifications make it easier, but completion of either doesn't mean you'll turn a profit... and really, if people aren't profiting, they most likely will leave and go back to whatever they were doing before.

Failure is always the most discouraging thing get over and as community it's up to us to make sure everyone in it has the same opportunity to succeed.

As you go through the training you will find that Kyle and Carson have areas where you can put your links and have people link to you. They cover social media, you need to get more into the training where most of your questions will be answered. I was talking about more generalisation. They get into specifics, you'll see. Most people drop out because they don't follow through on the training.

You will find the seasoned and professionals who turn a profit have all done the training.

I get it, but we're talking apples and oranges here. You're talking about people following a plan, which I would highly recommend EVERY SINGLE member to do. Start to finish. Every single tutorial.

What I don't believe is every person will be able to keep their motivation by reading text and reading a few encouraging comments here and there. They would need to see OTHER people being successful and want to be them. How, they followed the course and this is out all the tips and tricks they learned.. BEYOND The course.

If you go to your dashboard and click on the success button you will find all the people who are successful there. You may have to go back quite a ways because some people click their post as a success without reading the rules.

Here is one for you; Here is another guy who is highly successful;

Thanks for the links, much appreciated as I have to wade through so much fluff with very few diamonds in the rough.

Notes:

14K - doesn't really go into detail, nor does his other post ($525 a month in Sept. 2015). but that kind of progress over 18 months or so is quite impressive and if we can get him to share a little that would be great. I've already sent him a note.

99% - This basically just advertises their WA affiliate link and loops back to my earlier sentiment, where 99% of people should not fail within a community if they work together.

This one is by far the shiniest nugget I found today and am pretty sure I'll see it again as I work through more tutorials as it's a course in itself. While the case study is beyond exhaustive, a simpler version would be just as good,,, i.e.

Profit: $400 per month
Niche Keyword: football snack helmets
Website: https://footballsnackhelmets.com
Google Rank: #1
Extras: SEO and Social Marketing..., as well as recent TV spotlight by someone who happened across the site and put it on the news.

________

While this post below doesn't go into too much detail, other than to say the revenue gained ($13) was via posting a few reviews.

When investigating, I would assume it's the Fishing website and that they were reviewing something sold on Amazon. (i.e. product showcasing), just not sure what (polarizing sunglasses?)

Even though it's only $13, we'd all still be happy with instant gratification knowing this can work. -=-

If you or anyone else finds more articles like these or wants to write one, please do share them here, as they are EXACTLY the type of stuff that we should have easy access to, rather than having to go dumpster diving in search of them.

Also, you are not the first nor will you be the last to pose this. With such a large site there will be dumpster diving because not everyone can be seen on page one, even the most successful ones.

Also, the ones who fall by the wayside have any number of excuses which is why the only ones who 'make it' are the entrepreneurial spirits. When they are successful they end up not spending much time here.

I have been in business nearly my whole life and some people just don't make it because they don't understand there is a massive amount of work to be done to be successful, even with online marketing.

There are commitments to be made and some people can't do it or they look at a highly successful person and say 'oh, I could never achieve that because they are smarter, taller, younger, had a head start, you name it there is any amount of excuses for not making it and seeing other people's success may inspire you but for someone else it puts them off because they can never see themselves being that successful especially if they come from a job which pays them $15 per hour.

I applaud your effort but even at WA most people are lucky if they get 20 different people commenting on their post. Not a lot of people I am afraid. The ones who have over 50 comments here usually have over 10,000 followers, that should tell you something.

Best bet is to get your site up and running and make heaps of money and I wish you all the best, Anthony.

You might like to look at one of my trainings if you have he time; Cheers,
Michael

Just went through it quick and opened a bunch of links on categories, tags and rules of success. Commented as well as per rule 2 on Lesson 6 :-)

I'm pretty sure I'll get more than 20 commenters, but yeah, it may take time and I prefer at least 100 active commenters, but that to will take time.

I do however practice what I preach and tomorrow I will be building my first site here on WA and noting pitfalls and shortcuts where I see them.

As for being a newbie, I am that when it comes to WA, but I've built hundreds of websites over time and normally code my mobile responsive themes by hand.

The discussion is more for everyone in the community rather than just myself, as well as to ensure that when I bring new members, they can quickly adapt with my having to hold their hand.

I'm a worker bee by trade, but not everyone can find inspiration in reading the success of other people and simply must find it by themselves, by following a roadmap and knowledge there are lot friendly gas stations and diners along the way.

How do we get them to the end of their journey.. we make it easy enough to succeed when they put in a maximum effort.

I think if you look at the people that went to Vegas, you might get the answer. There were not many there. Just my opinion. Hey, that can be my new website.

In my opinion, it is not whether or not the affiliate program itself is working well within a niche, but whether or not the internet marketer (you) know how to successfully write content that converts. You can have someone who is a great content writer do really well in an affiliate program that has a lower than average commission structure, because they can create content that draws people in and create conversions. And you can have a poor content writer make nothing in an affiliate program that has a really high commission structure, like 75%, because if your content is poorly constructed you will not convert one red cent.

So, focus not on finding that "golden nugget" of an affiliate program, but instead work on refining your writing skills.

Hope that helps.

Steph

I think it's a matter of both things being equal. It really won't matter much which affiliate program or product you choose if you can't drive traffic to site, nor keep a visitor's interest long enough for them to trust your recommendations.

At the same time, there are many niches that aren't very profitable for amount of time require to develop and generate a steady visitor base.

So, wouldn't it make more sense to have a mentor of sorts whose already done well for themselves in a somewhat related niche, who can guide you along as to what works best.

This info does not need to shared personally or in full detail, but a simple list of things people tried that failed miserably or tried and succeeded with would greatly help inspire more WA members to branch off in their own directions.

While encouraging comments are nice to hear, they get real fast when everyone is saying the exact same thing, which has little substance or bearing on how one might actually accomplish what they are recommending.

Why does the community continually encourage "doing everything on your own". It just doesn't make sense.

Encouraging "directions" however can guide those in need, allowing newbies to follow in the footstep of someone who's already been successful in their specific niche and allow them to add their own style and flair to it.

Wouldn't it be nice as a Newbie, to able to choose from a list displaying what niches tend to convert better and which ones are easier to get traffic and the two are not necessarily related. Then see several working examples from WA members who already blazed the trail, who you could possibly private message help if they are able and willing?

Or do you feel a pat on back and a few words saying that you'll love the course and it'll be great will do the trick for you.

I'm just being realistic here. If you find a niche that's profitable and popular while being underdeveloped that's great, but realistically not many people are going to do that on their first try.. and if they don't see some form of success within a few months, they most likely will not try to build a second and/or continually built up their 1st.

There are several MILLION of undeveloped niches and only several thousand active members here, sharing will hurt anyone's bottom line. Just ask Pat Flynn who does just that make more than $1,000,000 a year, fully and absolutely disclosing every single he does online.

If the comment above resonate with anyone, feel to free private message for any questions you feel have skirted or gone unanswered here.

Anything I learn I will be happy to share and so as I'm put my sites online, I will post them in my profile for all to see and post about what has been successful and what has not.

Sharing is caring and it truly is the only way grow in a short period of time, which is pretty much what all of our goals here are and the reason we put in the effort.

If anyone is interested in the results, I will try to do just that (go through the posts looking for info) and then document what I found in a new blog post.

Figure that should at least get the party started and then hopefully more people will join the discussion and get Kyle and Carson rolling on adding more features as to how we can better share our niche building / affiliate programs tips and commission stories.

Albeit a pre-historic way to do things, if you go to your Activity Dashboard, click on Success you will see the blog feed of success stories.

You will however have to open each one to see what's there, as well as to scan through the post to see if anyone has left their link / and or mentioned anything in particular as what made them money.

I've only just started using affiliate links (like, yesterday) so I'm unable to contribute much to this discussion. Although, I would also like to see a success stories section that would provide the trials and errors of others that I might be able to use as I'm getting started!
I'm also a Pat Flynn fan and listen to his podcasts regularly :)

Even though you're a newbie to WA like me, you can greatly contribute by asking those who follow you or whom you follow to join the discussion.

...or by adding any thoughts on how we can make this post start trending a get a vaulted discussion here.

I thought more people would have replied to my question, but it appears I will have to sent notice of it to get the ball rolling, which I will do now by sending a personal note to each of my followers.

Again, any help from you or anyone else in trending this topic would be both helpful and greatly appreciated!!!

As well, it seems it also might be the only way we will get any answers and/or participation in info sharing.

-=-

Pat Flynn is great! I remember when he first started up, his way of thinking was so refreshing compared to everyone else who simply hoarded and guarded every inch knowledge they obtained.

Considering he now makes $150,000 per month, he's also proved the doubters wrong and showed that SHARING INFORMATION IS WHAT MADE HIM SUCCESFUL, rather than the other way around.

I feel like Pat Flynn's methods work in this community as well for the most part. I have definitely noticed a lot more stress placed on affiliate marketing here, but Kyle and Carson do a great job of stressing content as well. All of the training lessons so far include a task to create a new post using keywords, and I think they've done a great job of teaching SEO...
I know that's somewhat unrelated to this post.. sorry.
I think your idea to dive into the articles and posts and see what information you can dig up will probably be a good start. What could I do to help you trend this topic?

No worries, It's perfectly related. Pat Flynn niche's is helping other people become successful and he's very good at what he does.

Anyone interested in doing that can simply visit his site, see what he does, what products he recommends and how much each product / program is making him in the end. This is the type of information I'm looking for.

If I visit any niche website or niche, I can easily get a feel of the content type and what it's advertising. What I can't tell is:

- the success or failures of the methods they used to generate traffic to the site
- how each affiliate program / product they tried worked out within their niche
- what things they noticed over time to be time-wasters or where they struggled
- what small things brought seem to bring instant success or what brought them out of their struggles.

That information is what everyone on here should be looking for, since it's crucial their own success. Following in footsteps of other who are already successful will always be the path of least resistance.

...and it's from that point that we all can branch off into onto our own paths to find personal success. When we further share how we got there (like Pat does), it can only lead to more ideas and more paths choices for those are following in our footsteps.

As for what Kyle and Carson have accomplished here so far, I have nothing but glowing words to offer.. but at the same time, we can do more and make it lot easier for everyone to follow when we provide more specific like Pat does and that is what I'm trying to accomplish.

If want to help trend the topic, simply start mentioning this link when chatting with people. Ask them to come here and to post a comment if they are interested in what we're trying to accomplish. I will send you an Excel file shortly via PM (can't attach here) that
I'm working.

Inside it details each Success story I'm reading and adds the articles, member name, website, website theme articles, affiliate program, commissions they made, etc.

If you want to start adding new ones yourself, that would be amazing, but I will have the last 48 hours covered by the end of the night, so go further back if you desire.

Another great way would be send me a list of success story links that you found useful via PM so I can database them and add them to the spreadsheet.

After I get 50 or so success articles documented, I will post the list on my blog and maybe even on a website, so it's much easier to view.

Actually, my site is about help with building resumes, but I offer a section within my resources for other ways to earn extra money (presumably while waiting to land the job you want). This is where I created my Wealthy Affiliate post, and plan to add other things I use to earn a little extra money. I was considering doing something like Pat Flynn does, except not monthly income 'cause I don't make quite as much as him :P but 1st month, 6 month, and lifetime earnings for each thing. This shows the amount you can expect just starting off, what to expect after you get more experience using whatever it is consistently, and lifetime earnings for total accumulation of money earned. Thoughts?

Alright, I've got three kiddos and it's about time to start getting ready for bed ... and the super bowl... but I'll try to do a bit of digging. I don't know how soon you're trying to pull this together, but I can help if I can work on it throughout the week :P But I'll refer people back here as I'm talking with others!

Kudos for the kiddos and the Super Bowl. I'll be watching it myself, but with laptop in hand.

I've PM'd a link to an Excel Database of useful info I collected from reading success posts here on WA.

Once I have 50+ success stories databased, I'll share it my followers to see if this helps take this discussion up a notch.

Then from there if Kyle and Carson aren't interested in adding a similar feature a.s.a.p, I'll create a website for us to both gather and share info rather than doing via spreadsheets.

With a base of 500+ examples across a wide variety of niches, newbies will certainly have a lot more knowledge at their fingertips as how best to develop their niche to turn a profit.

My advice is to follow the training and work hard.
Have a read of this:

Thanks John, I'm already doing just that, but figured in a close-knit community like this, people would be cross-sharing info as really that's the biggest benefit to WA.

Where else do you have so many like-minded individuals who are all focused on the same thing? Making money.

If each new signup is doing it by trial and error, what's the point of being a community when everyone is succeeding or failing separately?

Sharing is caring and I would happily post any info that I put into practice and found it to be profitable.

How about a new classroom for Success Stories, wouldn't that be more beneficial to all members, new and old alike?

I like the idea of that.
It is always encouraging to read about other people's success here in WA, as it does take time and effort to succeed :-)

I will post any useful success story stories I read here on WA and built a site this week so we can keep track them a lot easier than via reading comments.

Of the 100+ posts I read today, only 2 really interested me and I posted my review of them in the comments above (see discussion with Ultimateless)

Here is one for you; Here is another guy who is highly successful;
