My site, my online home
Hey guys!
Two days ago when I was checking out my site stats on Google Analytics I thought of my site as my online home and was like "imagine if my online home was offline a.k.a. imagine if my online business was offline".
I started imagining how it would be if my site's activity took place in a physical space like my home and couldn't help but laugh lol.
At the beginning of November my blog was getting from 10 to 30 visits per day, which wouldn't be many visits if they took place at home. If every day 30 people came to my house I would have time to pay attention to their needs. I would be able to dedicate at least 15 minutes to each one of them.
And at the end of November my blog was getting over 200 visits per day, so I was like "wooow it would be crazy if 200 people came to my house every day, I wouldn't be able to dedicate 15 minutes to each one as it would be 3000 minutes which equals 50 hours, more than 2 days, I wouldn't even be able to sleep!".
I also saw that a visitor had checked out like 14 pages of my blog and I started imagining how it would be if each page of my blog was a room of my house and how insane I would go if someone I don't know came to my house and visited every single room without my consent.
For those of you who are already getting more than 500 visits to your blog on a daily basis, imagine if your blog was a physical space like your house. How would you react? Lmao.
See the potential of the Internet? You don't need to be at your online home all the time to get thousands of visits and make sales. And there's no limit when it comes to the visits your online home can get, something that it wouldn't be possible if your business was offline.
Anyway, I just thought I would share this because it's made me laugh and I've realized the huge potential the Internet has.

Ha - a home is a funny (but useful) analogy!
I sometimes think of it as a gallery exhibition where people will interact with exhibits, because that's a job I used to have.
In the gallery (just like online) you have to worry a lot about signage directing all kinds of people in unambiguous ways, and creating user interface which is intuitive. There's a science attached to those decisions.
Even so, it's SO easy to mess it up. And you have to watch your guests closely to learn how best to cater to their needs.
Wow I had not thought of a gallery exhibition but it's a great idea =) The exhibits would be the pages/posts of the blog lol.

It's somewhat daunting when one looks at the possibilities. The "What happens if...? questions can end up out of control. I don't want to think about it...maybe one would have to hire staff to do the PR work. Ouch!!
