5 Surefire Ways To Write 2,000-Word Content

I've seen a lot of you here struggle with writing lengthy content. Reaching 2,000 words is too much for you, isn't it? Yet, you are also convinced that you have to do to attract Google and might be chosen for a Featured Snippet.
Here's the thing.
Most of you struggle with reaching the average required length is because of thinking that creating content for your website is about quantity.
We want to finish the blog post fast and publish it. We want to make sure we publish a lot of blog posts to attract traffic. Because we believe that the more posts we write, the more chances our website could be indexed.
But, you know what, Google won't care how many blog posts your website has. What it needs is high-quality content. Plus, high-quality backlinks.
Brian Dean of Backlinko has 40 blog posts for years since he started his website. However, within 40 posts, they are all epic ranging 2,000 words and up.
The more backlinks you have, the higher the chances Google will have you on the Top Page of its SERP or the Search Engine Results Page.
Before anything else, what is a backlink?
It's a link, actually your link, used by another blogger to link your idea or your page to his own page. For example, you wrote about "The Ultimate Guide To Choosing High-Quality Vitamins."
The content was so good that it attracts not only Google but also other bloggers who wanted to write about the same thing.
Granted, they will refer to your page and use it to link on their own. Once it's published, you earned backlinks because it directs its readers to the original page, which you own.
Google loves that. In its eyes, you're a reputable source. A reliable source of information about vitamins. Once it identifies that your page has earned many backlinks since its published date, it grants your wish to be on the top page.
And this is what we want, right?
Now, you're saying you don't want to write a 2,000-word blog post?
My friend, it will be really tough. Writing high-quality content is no joke. But that's what we want. We want more traffic. It's not about the number of posts we publish, it's the quality that matters most.
So, how to write a 2,000-word for beginners like you?
1. OUTLINE
To make things easier for you (although it's not really easy obviously), you need to dig into the topic and do research. You can rely on your personal experiences if you have. However, you have to mix it up with the trend by researching the new stuff to include on your post.
Once you have all the resources you needed, you create an outline, which serves as the basis and the skeleton of your post. Afterward, you will see the overall picture of your post. You will see which part has to have more information and the section you need to add more.
When I started blogging on Wealthy Affiliate, many of the readers shared their thoughts on the comment section wherein they wrote about the "braiding" of the content. They told me I have such a unique writing style that captivates them.
The secret? Outline. Did you get what I mean?
2. CONVERSATIONAL
I'd like to add the conversational tone in the list because nowadays, blogging attracts readers more when the writer (which is you) writes as if they're talking to them as a friend.
Imagine yourself talking to someone who doesn't know a thing about vitamins in need of your help. Would you talk to him about the technical side of vitamins? Would you tell him about the periodic table and the alienating generic names? I don't think so.
You always make sure you explain to him or her the situation and present a resolution they have to do. You always ensure they understand what their problem is and the solutions you provide. That's how it should be.
Your task as a blogger or a writer is not limited to show them your prowess but to provide a clear path for your readers - from Point A to Point B - with ease as much as possible. You want to improve their lives. You want them to remember you because you helped them.
Now, you can't just include what you researched. You have to interpret those pieces of information you gathered to let them understand what you're talking about.
Fine. You can talk about how great Vitamin 360X is to your body. You can discuss its pros, cons, and your verdict. After that, what comes next?

Blank.
But do you think your readers will just buy it without understanding WHY they actually need it? Of course, they won't. I don't think they'd even remember a thing of what you said except your arrogance.
Remember, people buy stories. Not just the products. Hence, you need to be conversational as much as possible. You want your readers to click on the affiliate links you promote. Consider that.
3. DESCRIPTION
During your research, you gathered a lot of information in which you think would be useful for your readers. Great. You did a great job. You listed 1, 2, 3, all the way to 10 benefits of Vitamin 360X. It's comprehensive enough.
My friend, you can't just list them down. You have to describe each list. Explain EACH benefit in layman's term. Tell your readers what is it about. If there are 10 benefits of that product, explain each from #1 to #10.
Keep in mind the goal: Make your readers leave our page with an immense understanding of the topic we discuss. We make them remember you.
4. CONCLUSION
As I mentioned in my previous WA blog (and even in my own blog post on my website), you can't just exit the stage without telling the audience what you intend to tell them. You need to wrap up the topic well before you leave. Not even rappers. Before they declare Mic Drop, they leave a quick message.
The same principle applies to you, too, as a content writer. You may think that writing content for your website is simply describing the issue or a product for the sake of reviewing it. You may binge watch Kyle's training about it.
Little did you know the importance of wrapping things up in a seamless way possible. You opened the topic with a bang. You have to end the topic with a bang. Leave them with solutions they have to apply to resolve the problem by themselves.
You may provide that by pitching what you have to offer. Be it an affiliate link or a service or a program or a course you created. Whatever you have for your readers, pitch them well. With that having said, I suggest you follow this system:
Recap of what you discuss >> Remind them of their purpose of visiting your page >> Pitch them the offer you have for them
This is the secret.
5. SINCERITY
If you aren't sincere enough to serve your target market well, you can't make a comprehensive post. To you, it's like, "Why would I spend days for a blog post?"
"Besides, I'm here to give them information about Vitamins 360x, right? Why do I need to give more than they need? I'm only here to review."
If that's how you see it, you're wrong.
Your readers feel the sincerity by means of seeing how long your post you wrote. From there, you could imagine how much effort you have given to them to write such a thing. Even me. Otherwise, you won't give a damn on their struggle because anyway, you only wanted money.
My friend, you can't just focus on making money. Wealthy Affiliate may provide the necessary tools and the basics of building your platform. But that's not the end of it. It's just the beginning of what you have to do.
You're here because you serve the market. You're here because you know and understand it fully that the market you serve will pay you in the end.
If they feel they're taken them for granted by how you much time you spent on your website, if they feel the person behind this post doesn't give a damn on them, they will NEVER be willing to pay you more than you deserve.
CONCLUSION
You click this post because you're struggling to write a lengthy content for your next blog post, am I right?
I bet you try so hard how to make a 500-word content extend to as much as 2,000 words. I bet you're scared to expand your writing skills to its limits.
Perhaps, you're thinking, "I am not a writer. I wasn't born to be. I can't write something like that. Only gifted writers do."
Or, "Come on, Mecyll. We're not the same. You are a gifted, amazing writer. Not me."
That's the problem.
I wasn't born with the gift of writing. I just recognize I have potential. People told me the same thing. But I never had any idea that I could earn more than an average person in the town because of it. I didn't start my writing career as great as it sounds.
Do you think I was paid more because I have a gift?
No. It's because they see my potential. How? Through my website. Potential clients read my work. The fact they see them very impressive, they wanted to catch my attention. I'm not here to brag though. I simply show you the long-term effects of putting your soul in your writing.
I started with a crappy piece of write-up, too. Editors almost quit working with me because I wrote so terribly. I couldn't count the times I was insulted.
I experienced discrimination in the team because I couldn't write as any English-speaking native could do. I wasn't born in the US. I couldn't write as any American could. That's what I thought all the time.
But that didn't stop me.
I continued practicing and had read a lot of books as my reference. I underlined every line and memorized each word I could use in my writing. I wanted to be the best writer for everyone.
After all the hard work, it paid off.
Now, writing 2,000 words is easy.
Do you think I had it easy when I started? No. Damn, no. It was hell. But I should.
Which is why I don't want you to quit the idea of writing a comprehensive post because it takes a lot of time writing one. I don't want you to stay in the status quo and continue writing crap for your readers.
You, my friend, have the responsibility to give out the best. Put everything on your work as if it's your last.
Why would you be on the Wealthy Affiliate if you aren't ready to fulfill your 200%?
Why would you be willing to pay $49 per month without doing your duties?
These are the 5 secret ingredients to write 2,000 words for your next blog post. I really hope this helps you a lot. For now, I'll get back to work. I'll see you in the next blog post. Stay tuned.
