My Health Journey: A Life-Changing Transformation UPDATE
Hello there fellow WAers,
I hope everyone is doing well and prospering.
A little while back I posted on my new Health Journey. Some of you asked for details on how I did it and doing it. I have been so busy and have not had the time to do that but here it goes for all those interested.
First, for those of you who did not see the original post here it is:

Now here are the details.
I have a Tripod approach (you need a minimum of three legs for something to stand):
1) Healthy eating. I went on the keto style of eating that allowed me to effortlessly lose 23 lbs in 40 days. I am following Dr. Eric Berg on you tube. I find his short videos a great way to learn . If you are interested I recommend starting here (watch the 6 short videos in order):

2) The second leg is a Physical Fitness program:
I have been doing fitness for the last two years plus. I started out with a coach who I worked with for 1.5 years. His approach was three pronged: nutrition, physical fitness exercise, and building a healthy mindset (the most important!!) After this time I felt I had gained all I could from him and and found a very good app that uses AI to help you program your routines. I have been using it now for almost a year with good results. It is called Fitbod and I recommend it.
Above you can see what the app looks like when you open it
The second pic is a summary of one of my workouts and my performance.
Of course, you need some workout equipment. I do all of my exercise in my "home gym". Here is my equipment:
Autob Adjustable dumbbells from 5 to 25 lbs, resistance bands, workout mat, exercise ball (not shown)
3) The third leg is a good scale app
I purchased a Withings smart scale and in addition to this I downloaded the free Happy Scale App. The Happy Scale app will actually keep track of your weight and break down your goals of losing into milestones and it actually tells you how long it will take you to reach the next milestone. By breaking up your weight loss goals into several milestones you actually feel success as you reach each milestone, keeping you motivated to continue the journey.
Here is my scale:
I just want to conclude with an idea that I learned from the fitness coach I had. He taught me one of the most important secrets of success when it comes to health, and this applies to affiliate marketing as well. He calls this idea "Consistency over perfection."
It is the "need" to be perfect that squashes motivation and leads to giving up. Better to be consistent than to be perfect. As long as we are consistent and remain on the path towards where we want to go we can feel successful and be happy and fulfilled by that, even if we are not even near our destination. The truth is that it is the journey that counts. There really is no ultimate destination, as when we "reach" our destination we will find that the road continues to ever more greater destinations.
Find your path, work toward it every day. Do not demand perfection from yourself. Stay on the journey to what ever your goals are and everyday make sure to appreciate the little steps you take to get there. You can feel happy with every little step, even if that step is a step back. Right now I have gained a few lbs since my original post. But that is OKAY! This is a process. I am enjoying it along the way. Life happens.
I know that if I keep doing the three legs I mentioned above, I will continue to improve over time and feel fantastic about that.
And the same is with business, and with affiliate marketing in particular. I do not demand from myself perfection and I do not even look at that "pot of gold" at the end of the rainbow. I just do a little bit at a time, whenever I get the time, and I know I am moving in a good direction.
So here is to our future success 🥂!!!

I tried all the diets, keto etc, but nothing seemed to work, I believed the different meds my Dr put me on with the norm being whenever you see a Dr her in the Uk, they give you a new pill for anything you say is wrong with you.
Anyway, the Dr's refused to help me so I went private in May of this year. With the new weekly injection call Mounjaro and to date I have lost 47Lbs, I feel so much better with the exception of my knee!
And the Drs changed my meds halfway through this journey
Well done fellow Ketoer. I’m into my 4th year of following a whole foods ketogenic lifestyle. It is my lifestyle not a diet.
I’m 60 and have more energy than ever. I easily do 20km hikes on a regular basis.
The mental clarity is amazing and this affects all aspects of your life.
I’ve seen some of the Dr’s videos. Jerp up the great work.
I just turned 60 myself. As I age I can feel it when I am not eating right or exercising. That motivates me to get back on track. I am not ready for 20 km hikes yet. But enjoying more energy and enjoying the feeling that comes with gaining strength and flexibility.
Awesome Mark, that is great to hear your health is moving in a positive direction. One thing you can really use is AI to help you with your diet plans, fitness plans, and you can also ask it for feedback based on certain groceries that you have available to make calorie conscious meals.
Losing weight is simple math. Will power is another thing altogether.
Keep at it man, we are rooting for you!
PS. I just got back from the gym! I have been going 5 days a week for the last 25 years straight with only a one month break. ;)
Wow, 25 years, Kyle! That’s a wonderful accomplishment! 👍👍
All these diets, these days, it’s mind-boggling!
Weight is simply a matter of energy versus mass, assuming gravity is constant.
Calories Eaten > Calories Burned = Weight Gain
Calories Eaten = Calories Burned: No Weight Gain or Loss
Calories Eaten < Calories Burned = Weight Loss
A “healthy” diet is less straightforward. For example, I could eat nothing but 1000 Calories a day of saturated fat with an average amount of exercise and lose weight at the end of one month, assuming I have normal thyroid function.
Of course, I would never recommend such a diet! Lol 😆

Apart from when I was in The RAF, have never done gym work, but still do a set of exercises every day at 81, still only a couple of kilos over my weight of sixty years ago!!
Congratulations!
I do agree, perfection will not get us to our goal, persistence will.
Go! go! go!

Well said, Mark! :) I think this is my problem - wanting perfection and it slowed me down before and even know I need to recheck everything, change things, and so on.
Still, it is never perfect, but by wanting some kind of perfection I am slowing myself down.
Surely, I need to be way more consistent than I was in the past.
Thanks!
Keep up the good work related to your health! Have a great day!
Some of us, not referring to you necessarily, subconsciously try to be perfect because we are constantly trying to prove to ourselves that we are good people. Somehow when we fall short we attribute it to our essence and that is very uncomfortable. However, once we adopt the belief that we are good enough and need not prove to ourselves or to the world that we are worthy then we can finally just try to be a bit better every day than the day before and whenever we fall short of our goals we can still maintain our happiness and sense of self worth.
We are not what we do. We have intrinsic value that is not dependent on anything external.
A profound concept but true I think.
If a person's inner drive is to achieve to prove his or worth then he or she will never be content in life because you cannot fill a false truth. The truth is that we are all good enough and no need to prove anything.
Now we just need to work each day to be better than the day before and we are on the right track.
Sorry for the long rant here. I am talking to myself more than you or anyone else.
Wishing you continued success!
I think I can agree on this. No need to be perfect, nothing is really perfect, but I always struggle to make things as perfect as I can, and still I know it is not ideal. I think this is basically sabotaging ourselves in a way.
One person here in WA said he would like to post 100 posts per day on one site. I cannot even imagine how that is possible. Even with AI, I want to add a little bit personal touch.
I agree we are good enough but when that person struggles more than a bit in real life he or she would not think like that. Then there also comes blaming yourself - why I did not do better, why I did not try more, and so on.
I try to do it one day at a time and try to do more and better even if sometimes feels like going in circles. :)
Anyway, good luck and may we all succeed in the things we do!
