My Health Journey: A Life-Changing Transformation
In my last blog post, I discussed the importance of exercise and touched on healthy eating. Today, I want to share a personal health journey that I embarked on recently - a journey that has already changed my life in just 40 days.
The Wake-Up Call: For most of my life, I've struggled with my weight. But recently, I reached a tipping point:
- I couldn't descend a flight of stairs without experiencing pain
- My Hemoglobin A1C levels indicated I was borderline diabetic
These alarming signs made me realize I needed to make a change. But what? After trying countless diets in the past, I was hesitant yet determined.
The New Beginning: On June 15th, I started a new health plan. The results? In just 40 days, I've lost 23 pounds - without any medication! I'm now on track to reach my weight goal in a few months or less, and the benefits are already clear:
- Increased energy levels
- Improved strength
- Enhanced stamina
Key Lessons Learned:
- The journey matters more than the destination
- Breaking down big goals into smaller milestones is crucial
- Celebrating small victories maintains motivation
My Approach: I've divided my ultimate goal into 10 milestones. Each time I reach one, I feel a surge of excitement and motivation. This approach has proven effective not just for my health journey, but also in other areas of life.
Applying These Lessons: I've realized that this milestone-based strategy can be applied to my affiliate marketing business as well. By breaking down my business goals into smaller, achievable targets, I'm setting myself up for success.
Whether it's personal health or professional growth, the key lies in the journey. By focusing on progress rather than perfection, and celebrating small wins along the way, we can achieve remarkable transformations.

That's great Mark!
I'm more conscious of how much I eat so even though I might not be finished, I will simply stop eating. I don't need to eat that last portion or so.
I only drink water now whereas most of my life, I heavily consumed soft drinks.
And I try to get out and walk, walk & walk some more.

That is great Mel. And you get an extra plus when you walk walk walk. Over by you it is nice and hot so that gets you burning more calories!
What do you think is the thing that has aided you most, exercise, dirt, no sugar or….
Interested because I too am taking care of myself a lot better and it is probably my attitude that was the hardest too change but the most beneficial
Thanks
Steve
Actually it is really simple. You will be surprised. I am going to create a follow up post next week that will tell you exactly what I am doing. It really is not hard.
No meds
No counting calories
no weighing food
I have no cravings
I have energy all day long
No energy crashes in the day.
Stay tuned
I have battled my weight since—well—forever it seems. I am a type 2 diabetic and that is about 95% my weight. I can do great all day eating properly, but then I get home...
What's your secret sauce other than the milestones? Have you increase exercise? What foods are you eating?
If you don't feel free to share here, please DM me if you don't mind sharing!
Thanks and congratulations on the great milestone(s) so far!

I sure will, Mark! Woke up yesterday morning to a 433 blood glucose. Felt sick all day. Nothing has been working so far.

I had no idea you were taking a weight loss journey. I need to do the same. It's very difficult when I live in an assisted living facility, and they feed us processed food. Not only that, but many of the foods they serve are not great healthy choices. Second, I have no money to spend on food. The kitchen is not allowed here at my facility, so it's frustrating to try to find foods that I can eat or cannot. I'm glad you are sharing this. Thanks, Mark!
I hear you. You are in a tough situation. However, you might be able to be selective in what you eat. I will post a follow up next week on what exactly I am doing.
Stay tuned!
Good job, Mark! I'm sure your post may inspire others. Excess weight surely does not do a body good, especially as we reach our later years.
Yes, and unfortunately many of us learn later in life that all the wrong foods we ate when we were young catches up to us. But it is never too late to improve our health.

This is great, Mark! I bet you feel so good about this loss without meds, especially during these ozempic times.
Over the years, I had gained 50 lbs. I went from an 8 to a 14 at 182, 5'7". I have a sweet tooth and I can believe how much I would eat - all after dinner - at night. Really bad.
I read an online thing about Biotrust that had protein shakes mixtures. Sounded interesting, but what got me was their diet. It was more of a change your ideas of what and when to eat. And, it had a cheat day. This was when this idea just started.
The purchase came w a hardback book, Bely Fat Free (something like that). It discussed how nutrients are absorbed, etc. and explained how to change w/o calorie counting, but more on portion control.
It had a 3 week diet to follow where you eat a combination of low carb and medium carb diets. Only a handful of lean meat at each meal.
Basically, 1st day is fasting day, 2 is shake day, 3 is low/med carb, 4 day med carb, 5 shake, 6 shake, 7 cheat.
I might have a step backwards. If you need clarification, let me know, I'll find the book and look it up. Just know there are carbs in veggies, so plan accordingly for which to eat.
I lost 20+ lbs in that 3 weeks and kept it off for 2 years, until I lost another 25-30 being sick from restless leg medicine. I'm now at 137 and holding. I had gotten to 133 when I was sick, and that was too thin. I'd rather be 135, but oh, well, lol.
I'm back to an 8 and got to buy new clothes! And shoes. Didn't realize that your feet gain weight, too, lol.
This type of diet is easy to maintain, too. I don't much do the shakes anymore, but I feed my family this way. We don't eat a lot of carbs unless takeout. My hubby lost weight, too!
This isn't a lot of weight, but I've had it go up and down. At my age, this is a healthy weight and I feel so much better about it :)
So congrats on your victory!
Teri
Sounds like you had a good program going, What I am doing is really very simple. I will soon post a follow up with exactly what I have been doing. It will need to be next week as I am swamped with work right now.
The main thing is to be on the journey toward improvement. Perfection never works.
Stay tuned.
