Published Beats Perfect
When we're writing a new post it's only natural to want that post to be perfect. So we keep tweaking it and procrastinating trying to reach that elusive state of perfection.
Stop doing that to yourself.
Apply the 80/20 rule, if it's 80% perfect then in most cases it's good enough. Get it out there so people can read it.
Remember published beats perfect every time.

I don't have any idea what a perfect post would look like. Is there any way to know? I just write in my own words and hope for the best result. I try to follow Kyle's advice and write like I'm talking to a friend. That's about all I know at this point.
Perfection is a trap. Perfection is a mythical land that sounds wonderful, but in reality, does not exist. Everything we do can be done better. See the trap? If the post does what it was designed to do, it is not only good enough, it is good. Your posts are good.

Paralysis by analysis and seeking perfection is my current problem. Thanks for the encouragement!
Me too. Even after I published this short post I clicked on 'Edit' and added a few words.

The way I look at it is, if it says what you mean and it's easy to follow. It is perfect. If the people who will be reading it are technicians, then be technical. If you are targeting the laymen, then write in laymen terms. Either way it doesn't have to be 100% perfect. ( I think I said that right.)
