Embedding YouTube Videos: The Legal and Ethical Way
There has recently been some discussion about the correct way to embed YouTube videos that doesn't infringe on the rights of the video creators.
As a video creator I don't want people messing with my videos without my consent. So I put my videos on YouTube according to their Terms and Conditions and I expect the people who want to make use of my videos on their websites to respect the same Terms and Conditions.
Here's a link to YouTube's Terms of Service
And here's a link to my video on how to Embed YouTube Video in WordPress
I hope this clarifies the situation.
Warmly,

If I post something you have done, written, produced and that goes through the people I know and get's viewed by many Is that not good?
Yes, it's good as long as we all play by the same rules. Editing someone else's work is not really ethical in my book.
Thanks for this Marion. I have a friend that is an up and coming musical artist. With his permission of course can I use his music on my videos promoting the both of us?
Yes, I use other people's music in my videos but only CC0, with attribution or permission. https://www.youtube.com/c/PreferToWorkAtHome
Thanks a ton, there a re a lot of useful videos I would like to share but I always have second thoughts on legal issues.
There are at least 2 tutorials here at WA teaching people how to do illegal steps with YouTube videos. One was published yesterday. I raised the voice both times but did not see anybody else.
It was your post that prompted me to write this Jovo. I'm sure we do not stand alone on this ethical matter.
