New Email Marketing Service Provider - SendPulse
I am in the process of moving over to a new autoresponder and thought I would share some info with you all.
I am currently with aWeber and while I have been perfectly happy with them they are quite expensive.
Recently I came across SendPulse and they offer so much more, for much less!
With SendPulse you get all the same email functionality that you do with other email autoresponders PLUS you get free web push notifications and sms marketing.
They also have AI which will analyze your subscribers preferences and behavior to then find the best time, device and geolocation to send each of your subscribers messages.
This will increase your email open rates, click through rates and engagement.
They offer a free account for up to 2500 subscribers or up to 15 000 emails a month. I've spent the last 2 weeks fiddling around in my free SendPulse account trying to decide whether to use them or not and I have decided to take the plunge to move over.
I am currently paying $69 a month with aWeber for their 5001 - 10 000 subscribers plan. When I move over to SendPulse it will only be $40 for their plan which is for 5001 - 6000 subscribers.
Just to give a quick comparison - Sendpulse charges $69 for 12 000 - 14 000 subscribers.
And of course aWeber gives you a 30 day free trial but then you must pay after that - but SendPulse that free account until you hit 2500 subscribers or 15000 emails a month.
It will take me a while to move my lists over to SendPulse and to create new signup forms and add them to my websites, plus of course there are my email series that I will need to move over too....
I already love the really simple interface and how easy it is to create signup forms and customize templates. I am such a dunce when it comes to technical things that I need things to be so easy to use.
Plus another bonus - they have 24 hour live chat so you can ask for help any time you get stuck. I have chatted to their support team a few times already to test them out.
I always used to recommend Mailchimp to get started, using their free account to build up your subscribers... but now I think SendPulse is the way to go.
I will give you all some more feedback on SendPulse once I have used them for a while, but I have a really good feeling about this move!

Good info, Lynne. Definitely worth checking out. My only concern is if your list is approaching 2,500 subscribers, you can only send 6 emails during the month because of the 15,000 email limit. I expect that many would be happy if their subscriber list was approaching 2,500. :)
If your list is approaching 2500 subscribers then I would say yes you have something to get excited about. If you are close on 2500 subscribers and need more than 15000 emails sent it is only $9.85 a month which is a very low monthly fee :)
I was going to stick it out with Mailchimp for my drip feed campaign but now I think I'll check out Sendpulse. Thanks for sharing, Lynn! Alanna
It is a pleasure Alanna :) I suggest you do, much cheaper and so much more to offer. Plus when I used Mailchimp I found things tricky to work but that was a good number of years back, so I didn't know as much as I do now...
I have this mental block when it comes to email lists. In my mind, it's this really big obstacle to overcome. I hope I can conquer the mountain! Thanks!
I totally understand, I have often had blocks about certain things. But when it comes to email it would seriously be well worth your time to get started.
I use Aweber as well and agree that they are quite expensive. However, I have been so hesitant to move because of all the hassle of migrating subscribers and changing forms and everything. Still, aWeber's prices are truly getting out of hand and I am in the exact same price range you are in right now. Plus, I have been starting to doubt just how great aWeber is in the first place. They constantly have bugs with the software and there are some limited options. Let me know how sendpulse works put for you. I'd be curious to hear your opinion!
Thanks and all the best!
Howie
Howie, yes I am also resistant to change, because you are so right - it is going to be a royal pain in the ass to change. I will most certainly come back and give you some feedback. One thing is that i have added the web push notifications to my online marketing website and I have already gotten 13 subscribers... and I am not yet paying for anything.
Not bad at all. I have never tried web push notifications before so this is awesome.
That is pretty cool to hear about the web notifications. I wondered whether they worked or annoyed people. I could never get a gauge on it and never tried it myself. Definitely, keep me posted about the service.
Email collecting and marketing is definitely an area that I need to step my game up with over these next few months. I have a decent subscriber list but it should be better and I know I can be getting better click-through rates and just utilizing the benefits it has to offer more effectively. It is definitely something I will be putting more effort into improving.
Sometimes it is hard to determine whether you are emailing too much or too little, sending too many "salesy" type emails, not providing good enough copy to get them to click to your site, and whether or not my headline is catchy enough to interest them to open it in the first place.
I definitely have some work to do in that department because I'm sure I am leaving money on the table. However, also having to pay $69 for over 5,000 subscribers is absurd, especially considering the many issues I've had with aWeber over time.
Best of luck to you and keep me posted!
Thanks!
Always like to read about new tools that offer more for less.
There are a number of tools out there that are actually better and cheaper than the big names like AWeber, GerResponse, MailChimp, etc.
For other well-known and used tools that are a bit pricey IMO it is the same. ClickFunnels is such a tool. It is almost 300 USD a month for the full-blown plan!
Unless you are a BIG marketer, that is a huge cost. Meanwhile, there are smaller players that will do MORE than that tool at almost 1/10th the cost!
Video editing tools are another example where this holds true. Unless you are focusing on selling videos to clients full-time, some of the expensive options just don't make sense.
Good to hear about this new AR, I will be checking it out...If nothing more than to see how it stacks up against what we are using now, which is a combination of a few...
Cheers!

I know exactly what you mean Dave. I once checked out GetResponse and nearly choked when I saw their prices. I used Mailchimp's free account when I first got started and then I changed to Aweber a few years later... and yes what an expense right?
I just feel that SendPulse is the right move for me at this time.
What are you using for video editing now? I tried a few free trials of things but I was not clever enough to figure them out LOL. Then a few months back I came across Wondershare Filmora and I am able to actually use it. I paid for their 1 year license, it was about $39 I think? I could have bought their once off license for I think $69 or $59... I can't remember but decided to first use it for a while and then decide.
So far I am loving it.
Yes the whole AR thing can get expensive quickly...To reduce costs, we went with a front-end tool that was designed by marketers and integrates with SMTP services.
The service we went with is SendGrid (and actually a LOT of AR services use them from what I have heard - These services build their front-end dashboards and tools but use SendGrid for the grunt work)...
On the video editing tools, I use several special purpose tools for animated videos and FB ad videos/explainer videos, as these are quick and easy to use. Filmora kind of falls into this category ( a good thing).
For heavier projects, I use a big name FREE tool called Lightworks (yes the same editing tool that has been Academy/Emmy awarded for their work)...
Here is a review (and you can use it for free and for 90% of us the free version is enough)...

A great find Lynne and worth investigating!
