I do know my way around here after being a member for over 4 years.

I know the do´s and the don´ts and as you know, I am always sharing everything I know. So here we go.

The 8 Do´s

  1. Answer every comment or question on your WA blog within 24 hours. (I get unanswered questions notification email, earn ambassador credits, and when I see where the question is placed, I sometimes think, you should be ashamed, do your job!)
  2. "Like" trainings when you benefit from them.
  3. Use the appropriate threads to ask for feedback and comments. And do not mix them! The difference between feedback and comments.
  4. Give all info when you have questions, be detailed!!
  5. We are a business platform, blog according to that (and of course we want to know about major life events, your mariage, your birthday, the new born and your accident and sorrow etc. We do not need to know that you went to the grocery, what you had for dinner or how long you spend in chat, that's exclusive to FaceBook.)
  6. Share your successes, even when it's a dollar, whe all started with that first dollar.
  7. Use the appropriate ways to ask questions
  8. Use your blog space wisely! Blog with Wealthy Affiliate. How many chances did you miss?

The 8 Dont´s

  1. Leave your website link in your blogs.
  2. Putting (your website and/or WA) links in welcomes messages to new (premium) members. It's not allowed to share links in welcome comments to new members. The welcome message of the referrer may contain links.
  3. Answering questions with "I like to know that too", just keep the tab open and wait patiently on answers of others. (It's VERY annoying when you get a notification with XXX has answered your question and you find "I like to know that too")
  4. Placing the same answer as your predecessor, Of course, answers can be placed at the same time, and cross eachother, there are more great minds around, but before you answer, scroll down and look what's been given and "like" the correct answer.
  5. Asking for comments using PM.
  6. Place your website link in comments. (unless someone specifically ask for it)
  7. Use the question form as an extended blog.
  8. Write "Thanks for sharing" or "Great Blog" under blog. The blogs are Google indexed try, at least, to write more than 2-3 words to make the comment count.

I hope this clears things up, if you have questions, please leave them below :)

Being new to WA, I really like this and would like to have it for reference. Is there a way for me to retain this post for future reference?

Yes you can bookmark the page, on top you see a little star, when you click on it, you can tag it (give it a name) To find it back, you can click the star in the search bar

Thanks. I knew there must be a way. I appreciate it.k

HI Loes!
Thank you so much for sharing these great tips. I am still a newbie here and learning everyday. This is a great list for me to follow, and I really appreciate it.

You're very welcome Montana:)

The information that you gave us is exactly why I read all of your posts!

Thank you John, I appreciate that:)

Hey Loes,
Thanks for this information. I knew most of the do's except #5. All that about keeping out your personal stuff. Makes sense though!!

Tried and True

Elaine

Not all personal stuff, the major events are very welcome Elaine

Thank you Loes this clears a lot up. If i might add I had felt that I had gained enough knowledge to help out in live chat but I could be wrong, we don't need 12 people jumping in to be a superhero to answer a question that has been answered.

That's right one right answer will do just fine David

Thank you Loes for sharing :). I too agree with #5.

This is a good reminder, not only for us new ones but even the ones who have been around awhile (those are the ones we try to emulate).

I could never figure out why people will reply to a question with "I don't know the answer." I wonder if it is because we are told to 'engage.'

Nevertheless, just in case I have slipped up, I will endeavor to be more careful in the future, and if I haven't, it is still a great reminder.

Mary Ann

You're welcome MaryAnn. You do not want that answer when you are stuck with a problem, and your question has 1 comment then, and people are tempted to believe the question is answered

Thank you for this . now I know.

Also it will make it clear for other newer members.

Thanks
Jennifer

Not only new members need to read this Jennifer;)

I know, I know.

Thank you, Loes. I particularly agree with Point 5 of the Do's, even though it contains a Don't. Having waffles and chicken for dinner has got nothing to do with business, and documenting the time that you spent in Live Chat and how many websites you reviewed for the day are plain and simple rank-boosting, self-serving nonsense.

Brian

That's quite right, I remember reading this som where too, Brian

Thank you for these do's and don't's. Often the rules are buried in the fine print somewhere and we forget to look for them. I think we all need reminders every once in a while and your post was right on time.

Thank you, Jeff, sometimes we do need reminders, yes:)

Great advice Loes- It is so important to do things correctly and this will help people heaps
You rock!!
Vicki

Thanks Vicki, I see a lot of links where they do not belong
