Tortoise or Hare? Who Actually Won?

Tortoise or Hare?

Well, friends, we've all heard about the hare and the tortoise story, haven't we?

It's a very interesting epic journey of two characters -- quite different in make-up from each other.

One is considered quite speedy, almost like a 'road-runner' beep-beep get outta my way kind of bird ...

and then, we have another kind of animal that plods along slowly and steadily along the road of life ...

maybe even at a snail's pace if one could call it that ...

What speed can they go at?
Well -- did you know?
It is recorded that a fast hare can lope up to about 22 miles per hour.

A tortoise can make it at a quick crawl at less than a mile per hour.

Technically, who wins?

The hare of course.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

THE TWIST

However in this story (based upon Aesop's famous fable) -- the hare is demonstrating egoism and arrogance that without a doubt, he of course can win the race -- guaranteed hands down!

Being so overly confident and egoistical, he decides to take a snooze to rest up, thinking that ah-ha -- the tortoise is such a large, lumbering slow beast, (carrying that huge-heavy shell of a house on his back) that he'll never, ever be able to beat the quick-footed, hairy hare ...

There were a few distractions of shiny new objects along the way as well to sniff out so feelin' a lil' pooped out -- the hare, unfortunately, slumbers a lil' too long, feelin' so smug and comfy with hisself that he technically misses the wake-up call.

By the time, he wakes, the tortoise had just snailed to the finish line and beats the hare by crossing it.

Even at the lightning speed of the hare, he still couldn't make it to the finish line before the tortoise.

So WA members and all who want to enjoy the journey to get across the finish line on building a successful on-line biz ...

... kindly remember the harried hare and the thundering tortoise along this journey and who in the end actually wins?!

Does it matter?

Isn't it a case of winning the road race against oneself -- who else is there in this journey of life? ...

It's been said a number of different ways, in different places, with different people -- you're in 'competition' with yourself, no one else.

At the end of the day, what will you have accomplished that matters most to you?

Think about that for a moment.

Did you know that most people do not get a chance to sing their song or play their music or tell their story or achieved their goals before they passed or transitioned?

Being on the WA Platform in building a meaningful on-line business is a major goal here -- please do not allow 'distractions' or shiny new object syndrome to whack you off path....

... slowly, surely and steadily will get you there over the long-haul, however, there is only the one 'you' and you are vital in this world -- make you count !

All the best wishes . . . for everything good.

Thanks for the reminder.
It's true that most of the time we are competing with no one else but ourselves.

hey hi Ambassador Joe ! ... ⭐️

... thanks kindly for gracing our hallways today here ...

... appreciate your insightful reply ...

Keep happy & well, cheerio ... 😊

In maintaining a site, we should not get slumber. When we do it our business sleeps.

hey Jimmy -- delighted to hear from you & glad that it looks like you've got a good internet connection going here ...

.... you're right when we snooze, we lose (like the hare!) ...

however, it's ok to rest up and get refreshed to take on new ...

if you feel you need some zzz-zzs, then of course, get some!

Remember once this on-line biz is really, truly up & running ... there's a success outcome called 'passive' or 'residual' income that occurs which offers a whole lot of freedom ... so you gotta keep at it ! ....

Keep Happy & well, cheerio ... 🧡

thank you, let's stay active in the online world.

thanks kindly everyone for all your affection & sharing to this moment ... 🧡

... plan to reply to each individually when i get back ... 😊

great reminder. I need to get my skates on and focus a bit more.

Hi Glenys! ... glad you enjoyed the blog posting today and that you obtained some inspiration to keep moving onto success!

All the best, cheerio ... ⭐️

Yes another beautifully written blog.

I suspect that your comment ‘ distractions' or shiny new object syndrome whack you off path.... is basically what’s holding us back— for me at least.

Thankfully I recognized my weaknesses and am taking steps to ‘walk the straight and narrow path’

Thanks for the reminder.

hey hi Rolie! 🧡

.... so delighted to see you today!

.... glad you enjoyed the reading and found it helpful for you ... it's meant to be a beneficial story for readers ...

.... keep well & enjoy a wonderful thanksgiving, cheerio ... ⭐️

You write a good post, lady! Yep, we are in competition with ourselves and don't need to race everyone else.

On my website, which is about cats, I created a character called Lucinda, the literate cat. I wanted to put kids' books on my site that weren't necessarily about cats. So Lucinda writes the book reviews and adds her own interpretations now and then. They have been very fun to write. One of the last books Lucinda reviewed was Aesop's Fables, and she did a commentary on 4 of his stories, including "The hare and the tortoise." The lesson taught is good for many kinds of situations.

Thanks for your post.

hi Fran -- many thanks kindly for your reply and comment -- love fables ... and kid's stories -- i'm sure you're doing wonderfully with them ... all the best, cheerio ... ⭐️

Keisha,
I keep telling people this is not a marathon - you need to
do it but do it right skipping steps and not double checking
yourself will cost you in the long run :)
Thanks for sharing I love this story by the way

I've been the tortoise for the past few months but plan on reversing that with the commencement of a new WA year.

I enjoyed reading your post. Thank you Keisha :)

Hi Valerie -- being slow, sure and steady is just fine with me ... i'm like that too ... ⭐️

... there's so much to learn here that it would be fool-hardy to rush head-long into it ...

...once the understanding is all there then it would be a 'good to go!' ... like a new WA year!

... glad that you enjoyed a good read here today ...

Enjoy a wonderful thanksgiving, all the best, cheerio .. 🧡

Happiness can only be found if you can free yourself of all other distractions!

... hey hi -- simply enter the 'cone of silence!" or was that the 'zone of silence!' .... enjoy it all! ... chee-eeroo-o to you ! .. 🧡

Very true. I feel like I am on the tortoise's path but that is ok. I know that means I will be slow and steady but reach my goals in the end.

hey hi Jessica -- lovely to hear from you !

.... and yes, slow and steady makes big gains exponentially over an extended period of time ...

... like the magic of compound interest ...

.... certainly not a flash in the pan so to speak ...

Happy Thanksgiving -- enjoy ! ... cheerio ... 🧡
