I Don't Get It

I got an email from Google that says there are new reasons why articles I've written have not been indexed.

What I don't understand is, how I can get notification after notification that my content HAS been indexed as requested, only to get an email like the one I just referred to.

What do I mean?

Well, I have 115 articles on my site but the report say I have 111 articles that have been crawled but not indexed.

Huh?!

My site has gone from having about half of my content being highly ranked, several in the number 1 spot to literally none of my articles even being found on the first 20 pages of Google search. There are some that are doing okay on Bing and Yahoo, however.

I realize there was a recent Google update but, I thought that ended a month or so ago.

Several (maybe 20-30) of the articles listed as crawled but not indexed have been crawled in the last 3-4 weeks.

All I can say is WTF?!

It all makes no sense to me.

I got those too. Google hell. I hate it.

I'm sad to hear this news. It seems like every time Google updates, many affiliate marketers are affected. I don't know how anyone can get anywhere...almost discouraging.

I don't mean for my post to sound like I'm whining. I didn't realize how badly I was/am affected till now.

As it turns out, this is a wake up call.

Onward and upward.

Thanks for your input.
Bob

Hey Bob,

Nooo! Please you're not whinning! Not at all. What you wrote is an eye-opener for me, just like it is for you. It makes me realize I must do more and not count on Google 100%. I must find other avenues like Pinterest and email list, something I don't fancy doing.

Absolutely, onward and upward!

Have a blessed day, Bob! Thank you for writing your post!!

Regards,
Monica

Yeah, Google messed a lot of people up with their changes....like Frank said, it is time to pursue other avenues of traffic.

Absolutely! I already knew that but I wasn't aware of how urgent that need is until now.

I will survive. It was just a shock to realize the reality of it.

Thanks for your input.

Hi Bob

Google minimized and even de-indexed many low-domain authority sites in their SERPs.

Your best course of action is to continue writing content for Bing and Yahoo search results and build your traffic as best you can with Web 2.0 sites like Pinterest, X, FB, Medium, etc.

Building an email list with a lead magnet is a great way to market directly to your readers without being at the mercy of Google.

If you have the budget, you can promote content on social channels that attract traffic in your niche and consider PPC for search results with Google or Bing.

All the Best! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Good advice Frank!

Thanks, Chuck! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Thanks Frank. Yeah, I realized what Google was doing but didn't realize how much I was affected. I know now.

I created a Mailchimp account but I'm not really sure I'm using it correctly, even after the walk throughs I've done. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

I'm spending more time on social media but I'm not familiar with Web 2.0.

I'm also venturing into PPC but I've failed miserably at that in the past. I'm taking that very slowly. I don't mind spending the money. I just don't like to blindly throw money at it and expect it to produce.

I had already decided to focus more on Bing and Yahoo.

I'm sure it'll all be okay.

Thanks for your input.

Hi Bob

Haha, you seem pretty sharp to me. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I would caution you not to use Mail Chimp because they are not affiliate marketing friendly.

Web 2.0 platforms are designed for accommodating user generated content, so not just the usual social channels like FB, but also platforms like Medium dot com.

For premium plus members there is all the training you need to master PPC.

I think your plan to move forward is good one. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Best of Luck
Frank ๐ŸŽธ

I gotta ask, Frank. How is Mail Chimp not AF friendly? Who/what do you recommend instead?

I will look into 2.0.

Bob

Hi Bob

I donโ€™t use MailChimp, but Iโ€™m given to understand that they have closed peoples' accounts for adding affiliate links to their broadcasts and campaigns.

Hereโ€™s what Mail Chimp has to say.
https://mailchimp.com/help/about-prohibited-content/

I recommend using a different autoresponder.

I use AWeber, but there are many other ones to choose from.

Frank ๐ŸŽธ

I've been doing this (part-time) since 2016, and I have over 600 articles on my website. And as you say, I can confirm that the only traffic I get since Google's doomsday algorithm is from Bing and Yahoo.

I am also a fan and user of Aweber

I know I'm not alone. It's time to pivot.

Thanks, I will look into it.

Hi Denis

Yeah, it's tough to rank in the Google SERPS these days without a high-DA branded site.

I hope you're enjoying the summer and getting some guitar playing in. ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŽถ

Frank ๐ŸŽธ

Yeah, I find it super easy to use and reasonably priced compared to some other options.

Of course!!! I grab my guitar daily ๐ŸŽธ and keep the pool at 88F๐ŸŠโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Haha, youโ€™re doing it right x 2, Denis! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Ž

Keep on Rockinโ€™ it! ๐Ÿค˜โšก๏ธ๐Ÿค˜

It might be because of that change a few months ago, Bob! They made a lot of changes. I feel your pain.

Jeff

Yes Jeff, I'm sure it was because of the changes. I guess I got caught sleeping. I knew it was happening but I didn't realize how badly I was affected until now.

Thanks for your input.
Bob

I know what you mean, Bob! Google does what it wants too! Usually a few posts are on the front page, but after that, nothing.

Jeff
