Who Won the Race the Turtle or the Hare?

Once upon a time, in a dark cold world before the Internet, a man called Aesop told a story which you can read below. Before you read it stories are one thing which unites all cultures, all cultures have stories and often with the same theme, not the same story, though.

The Tortoise and the Hare

The Hare was once boasting of his speed before the other animals. "I have never yet been beaten," said he, "when I put forth my full speed. I challenge any one here to race with me."

The Tortoise said quietly, "I accept your challenge."

"That is a good joke," said the Hare; "I could dance round you all the way."

"Keep your boasting till you've won," answered the Tortoise. "Shall we race?"

So a course was fixed and a start was made. The Hare darted almost out of sight at once, but soon stopped and, to show his contempt for the Tortoise, lay down to have a nap. The Tortoise plodded on and plodded on, and when the Hare awoke from his nap, he saw the Tortoise just near the winning-post and could not run up in time to save the race.

Then the Tortoise said: "Slow but steady progress wins the race."

Recently, I have been reading a lot of questions and blog posts saying my website is not ranked, what do I do?

I get this totally we are all human, and as such we want fast immediate results, especially in the world of the Internet.

However, let's all take a breathe and remember why we came to Wealthy Affiliate's - most of us came to get solid tries tested and tweaked ways to make money online.

Now, I have to be honest here, but as I have been here for over seven years, I have not read the sales page recently. But, I have just re-done the training. This is something I do every year about the anniversary of my joining.

I didn't see any reference to a quick rich scheme, a magic button, or a magic wand, and when I last looked neither Kyle nor Carson had changed their name to Harry Potter.

The real world of business and the virtual realm of business are not that different, it is about making relationships and communicating. Some members here at WA find that easier than others. Not everyone here speaks English as a first language. Some members at WA have small children.

There are barriers to overcome by everyone! Even if it's only just coming out of your comfort zone.At the end of the day, in seven years, I have never seen anyone who takes action here at WA fail.

Whether you succeed overnight, you may be lucky or you have a knowledge of how business works and grasp a new niche very quickly, or whether you succeeding in weeks or months;what does it matter?

You are learning to make a long-term sustainable business model and that's all that matters

Well said. If you're not in you can't win!

Excellent reminder ... we need that every so often ... Thank you. M

Great post ! I think we all need a reminder from time to time that it won't happen overnight .

Neat post Kat.

Building a business is not a sprint but a marathon. I am learning everyday.

Thanks for this helpful post and your testimony is worthy of emulation.

true enough

Thank you for your obvious words of wisdom. I am stumped on how to link would you be able to help and guide which obviously would be much appreciated. However I should warn you will be dealing with novice who needs things really spelt out clearly. Thanks either way and all the best

I am more than happy to help you, and there is only one way to explain and that is keeping super simple. If someone is confused they going to get more confused with a long and convoluted explanation.

First of all, get your affiliate link by scrolling down the left-hand columns of any WA page, and click the WA affiliate program your link is at the top of the Opening page.

Copy that link, open your blog and create new page in the text mode, not the visual mode. Look at the toolbar above the area where you type, it should say link. Click on the link and a new window will open at the top it will say you URL.
Past the link that you copied, into the URL space. Tick the boxes which says into a new window and then click add link.

If this does not answer your question please PM me

Thanks Kath - I very much appreciate input from the experienced. Thank you for sharing I will stay with the turtle.

Dear Kath, I never realised until now that you have been with WA for so long. I bet you have seen quite a few come and go and also made many friends in that time. How amazing. And after reading your blog here and hearing how you re-do the training on an annual basis, I am quite astounded. Good for you Kath and all the best to you. Keep up the great work which by now has probably become a hobby!! :-))

I so agree with you. The one thing that stuck in my mind is that (I think) Kyle said he didn't make any money for three months. I'm only halfway to that mark. And for some, it may be six months or a year. The idea is to LEARN. That's what I'm here for. Sure, I want a profitable business, but I figure that will come in time. Thanks for the great post!
