Wow! 255 Pinterest views in less than a month!

I never really gave Pinterest a try before.

I probably should have, could have and would have, but I didn't. Since the shoulda, coulda, woulda's don't pay the bills, I am not going to lament this. I am just moving on!

Since I restarted Pinterest—I still had my old Pinterest account, so I made it a business account and moved onward—I have had 255 views on my various pins in less than a month.

That is incredible. I've even had a few link clicks which is making me do a happy dance!

I know a lot of people don't like social media and for good reason, but I am becoming more and more of a believer in its power each time I try something with one of the many out there.

I am only consistently using Facebook and Pinterest right now, but Pinterest is actually surpassing Facebook! Or perhaps it is reaching a different audience? I don't know, but I am happy to see the link clicks.

Personal Update

I have been very busy over the past two months. I have been writing daily for my book projects which keeps me quite busy. I am now writing about 3000 words a day for my book projects plus another couple thousand a day for my posts for my blogs. Then, I also have to write my stories for work, so I am writing ALOT!

Then I went to my son's wedding this past weekend. He married the sweetest young lady. My ex and I drove down together. We still get along really well. Actually probably better now that we don't live in the same house!

It was a long drive out to where they live and then a long drive home. On the drive home I started to get stressed out about all the work for my day job that I didn't get done and broke out in hives. Ugh... My arms itch so bad I can hardly think. But if I don't think about it too much, I can keep it at bay. I am also using an anti-itch cream so I can sleep otherwise I am up all night scratching!

Anyway, I hope you all are continuing to fight the good fight and continue to work on your websites and businesses! Whether it be five minutes or five hours, spend the time consistently and you will see growth from my perspective!

Take care!

Great story! I, too, should work more with Pinterest!
Just goes to show things simetimes happen when you least expect them to, that's where your focus should be!
I applaud you writing 3000 words a shot, and have you tried bathing in oats or oat formula I've heard it could be quite soothing!

That's great, Karin! I am doing great on Pinterest and I have barely any traffic at all on Facebook. But, I going to keep pushing along. Next week, I am looking at the terrifying YouTube 😱. I am going to start with Eric's classes and go from there.
Just remember to breathe. And, my famous saying (around my friends and family, that is), one foot in front of the other, that is all you can do. (I'm going to let that be the title to book one day! 😊)
You've got this!

That's awesome. Love your attitude! That is the thing that will get your through!

Hope you have a great day!

Karin

It's great to hear about your good times and your hard work that you are working towards. We learn to appreciate what it takes to become successful thru the stories we read about. It's your reminder to me that some sacrifices are going to have to be made to get you to that better place in life.

Thank you Karin for sending out this post because I am inspired to just harder and accomplish more.

Keep on keeping on towards reaching those goals.

Rick

I'm glad it inspired you, Rick. I like to share what I find helpful and always hope it gives someone else a boost or an idea.

Take care!

How do I increase my Pinterest views?
Convert your Pinterest profile to a Business account.
2: Brand your Pinterest profile to make it recognizable.
3: Verify your website.
4: Create fresh pins consistently.
5: Publish high-quality vertical images & videos.
6: Select a strong cover image for your pins.
7: Use Pinterest boards to organize your Pins.

I’ve done most of this but still not sure what the boards are for. I have 2 or 3 boards and just randomly assign a pin to them.

Think of boards as categories.

So, if you have several categories on your website, you could have a board for each one.

That makes sense. How many boards can you have?

As many as you want, I have 50 on one of my accounts!

I just place a pin for every post I write for my websites. Then after watching a short video by Vitaliy , I began to post a little more often. I try to make a pin every day for each of my boards. It has increased the traffic on Pinterest and has led to a few link clicks.

Karin

I currently have 5 boards, one for each of my websites and one that I post random things. The random things include coffee memes and things like that that I create just for fun.

Karin

I have 3 or 4 boards like Healthy weight loss tips, exercise, and fit & fabulous. I add pins on all boards and point them towards a specific blog post or my website’s home page.
Does it really matter which boards they’re on? I’m still trying to understand Pinterest. lol

Wow! 50. Well, I guess that makes sense, you can have a lot of different categories!

Karin

Hi - Pinterest accounts can be likened to websites in a way, each one should only have content for a specific niche.

If you have mixed boards on entirely different topics, Pinterest won't show your Pins as often in its feed.

Pinterest wants to keep people on its platform for as long as possible.

So, for example, if somebody is searching for something horse-related, but you have other boards relating to diabetes, Pinterest wouldn't promote your account highly, because the viewer isn't interested in your other boards and might leave.

I have 5 separate Pinterest accounts, which include one for each website, and another to direct people to my books on Amazon.

Yes, again, it's the same as your website - you wouldn't add a post about diets to your exercise category.

Each board should also have its own description, and the pins should be relevant to that topic.

If someone searches for something in the category of "cats" and all your pins are about "dogs," I assume they wouldn't like that. Since the boards you listed are all connected by a common theme—health and wellness/diet exercise—I assume if the posts are related to those things it would make sense to put the pins there. 😎

Did you read DianeScorpio's comment below? She has a link to why we shouldn't follow WA users on Pinterest. It's a good one and if you haven't checked it out, I recommend it.

For me, all of social media is a trial and error thing. I try things and if they work, great! And if they don't I try something else.

Best wishes,
Karin

I’m so glad you mentioned trial n error and trying things out cause I find myself taking things way too seriously when it comes to my blogging. Took a step back and reminded myself to continue to learn daily but also to have fun with it. Thanks Karin.

Any time! 😎

This is highly variable and depends upon a number of factors. In other words, there is no fixed number of impressions that can be considered good. If you are new to the whole Pinterest area, then anywhere from 1k to 10k monthly impressions can be considered as good. This should be okay for your starting period.

I'm working up to that. 😎
