The ultimate wordpress theme choice
Hello Wealthy Affiliates,
I want to share with you my recent experience about the choice of wordpress theme.
As a premium member, I was drowning in the sea full of 2500 themes and soon i get lost. It is true that for premium members there is huge variety of nice themes but at one point you start asking yourself the question "How is it possible to chose a theme?" They are all so cool, i want them all."
I knew that you can filter them out but still i wanted to use a more detailed approach.
In order to ease my choice, i decided to do a google research and see if i can find some specific wordpress themes, relevant to my own niche. Well, that helped me a lot.
The point is that there are themes, suitable for all kind of website types and you have to narrow down your research based on the content and the vision that you have for your site.
For instance, if your content is more artistic, you might want to have a creative and beautiful site with such theme. If you want to present your business, you will need to display important contact information, feature the products or services you offer on the front page, and engage your customers with a blog and social sharing features. In that case you will search for " business wordpress themes" in google. The results will include clean and polished, professional and well structured business oriented themes.
There are also themes which are strictly "affiliate marketing" friendly and include e-commerce sites integration as well as related plugins for product reviews.
When i searched for "free book review wordpress themes", it returned me a list with themes useful for online marketers who manage books review site. The BookRev Lite free theme grabbed my attention on this subject.
Once you find a theme you like within your google research, just type its name in the themes search bar while you are logged in Site Manager in WA. There is a huge chance that you will find it here, given the huge number of themes available for premium members.
Also keep in mind that if you do not have an exact idea of the structure of your site (like i did not have), it is better to start with an easily, highly customizable theme. Personally, i like a lot the Squirrel theme, the Mantra theme, the Customizr theme and the Spirit theme, all available here in WA. I know that the Divi theme is also very attractive and beginner friendly.
At the end, the great thing is that you always can change your theme, add plugins and have fun, but it is better when you have a concrete idea of what you want to do and what type of theme to use. In that way you will avoid spending time and efforts changing something you already started working on. Plus, this gives you confidence and a newbie definitely needs every single ounce of confidence available.
So that was my personal experience and the approach i took in order to nail down my theme choice. How do you like it?
