Hi,
We just watched the video Kyle put out about how to change themes. When we click on "Preview Theme" the page goes black, then comes up with a bar showing it is loading,
Hey, I am not sure why this could happen, but try and refresh your browser and cache and cookies because that can slowdown sites.
That is what I know could help, maybe someone else has a better idea on what you can do

Our "About me" page says sticky, and it is at the top of our home page even though it is the oldest post, so I think it means something about that.

Sticks up top all the time.
You can make more than one sticky post.
You can quick edit, untick option, and update.

Hi - as you have guessed, "sticky" means that it will always be the post at the top of the homepage.
It's your choice if you wish to keep it there.
If not, open up the post for editing in Word Press and look to the right of the screen.
There is a box that says "Stick to the top of the blog" - just uncheck it.

You may transfer or point to WA servers (if transferring domain has to end in .com, .net or .org.
To update your domain DNS settings to point to WA. Here are the DNS settings.
ns1.mywahosting.com
ns2.mywahosting.com
These settings will be updated within your domain registrar (where you purchased your domain) after the transfer has taken place. How to Transfer a Domain Name to Wealthy Affiliate How To Point Your Domain Name To WA NEW Go Daddy DNS details to make it work: To transfer your domain here you need login current registrar and fetch the EPP code, there's a one year charge of $15, privacy included. One year more will get added to your domain.
Also it has to have passed the grace period of 60 days.
If your site has content you need get in touch with site support for further instructions.
They will typically ask you for FTP info and your domain name, they'll set up a siterubix subdomain and upload files then you can check everything is okay before you point your domain to WA servers.

If the domain is transferred, future renewals are here.
If pointed to WA servers, you maintain your yearly fees at your current registrar.
Thank you for your thorough reply. I understand. We do not have content, but have also not passed the 60 grace period. So we will do the DNS thing and switch over sometime before we renew at godaddy. Thanks again.

The name servers for Wealthy Affiliate Hosting ALWAYS are:
Primary: ns1.mywahosting.com
Secondary: ns2.mywahosting.com

Another quick question...will we always have to pay for it at this other place? Or will we be able to have WA pick it up when we renew?

We are taught at WA to publish about 2 - 3 posts per week, BUT it also depends on your site and what the readers expect.
Such as an academically geared site that requires a lot of research may call for 1 or 2 articles per month! On the other hand, a site aimed at a different audience may require 1 a day.
It all comes down to knowing your audience, but the 2-3 articles per week is a great guidepost.

The recommendation is to keep updating blogs 2 - 3 posts weekly for the foreseeable future. As for how long, that depends very much on whether you know your content or research it.
With research, of course, it is going to take longer.
And obviously, the less you post, the longer it takes.

As many as possible during the first 6 months, to build up trust and authority with Google.
Eventually, you will have hundreds of posts on your site.
Focusing on just one site should be your priority until you have achieved some level of success.
