On page one
So I am checking search console this morning and noticed my post "Why do I keep changing positions while I" sleep is on page one of google. Its not in position one, but it is on page one. That's an improvement. I checked Jaaxy and it confirms the same thing.

Thatβs great! ππ
The other thing to do is to check its position by putting the keyword in an incognito Google search bar. π
And, you could end up with quite a bit of traffic as the post ages and gets indexed and ranked for other keywords by latent symantec indexing (LSI).

If you go to Jaaxy, and type in "Why do I keep changing positions while I sleep", you will notice that it has less than 10 Avg and less than 10 Traffic.
While it is good news that your web page has made it to the 1st page, this is not ideal because of the lack of traffic.
There is no point in being on the 1st page if no one or very few people are using the search term. It would be like opening a store and a street that has very little foot traffic, and no one visits it.
It is better to find and use keywords that have more Avg and Traffic. I can't remember what Kyle taught in that class but, if I can remember, it was at least 100. Me, I prefer more.
Of course, with higher Avg and Traffic, you have to watch out for the QSR and SEO. For that same keyword with higher Avg and Traffic, an ideal keyword should have lower than 30 for QSR and at least 90 for SEO.
Go watch the training by Kyle again for Jaaxy training and finding low hanging fruit keywords.
- Understanding the Low Hanging Fruit - How to Get Keywords Ranked With Low Hanging Fruit Tim
Hi - actually, when you see that result in Jaaxy, it doesn't mean less than 10, as you might think.
And if you check directly on Google, there are a lot of searches for that topic.
Tim is actually beating some high-ranking sites, such as Healthline and the New York Times. What Does <10 Mean in Jaaxy?
I don't know where you get that info from - "that there are a lot of searches for that keyword".
I just did a check on Google Keyword Planner and it showed the same results as Jaaxy - that the Average Monthly Search is from 0 - 10.
It is very easy to rank on 1st page for keywords like this because no site is competing for it. The reason is that 0 - 10 people are searching using that keyword phrase per month.
It doesn't matter that high-ranking sites, such as Healthline and the New York Times are also on that same page. They would know that that particular keyword phrase is not bringing in them any traffic at all.
And you can tell they are not competing for "Why do I keep changing positions while I sleep". Look at their metadata - title, description, etc. They are not using that keyword phrase.
They just happened to be on the 1st page because of "Why do I keep changing positions while I sleep" and their articles were the closest to it.
Still, that does not change the fact that there is very very very low traffic for that keyword phrase.
I could give you many keywords where my web pages are ranked on 1st pages, along with high-ranking sites. But it is worthless because there is no or very little traffic from those results.
Tim
Well, we will have to agree to disagree on this!
I wonder if you are talking about "exact match" keywords, and that hasn't been a thing with Google for many years.
Now, it's all about search intent.
Google looks at the meaning behind what somebody is searching for and brings up relevant results that may not match their words exactly.
If we take an example from one of my sites, you can see that this particular keyword, according to Jaaxy, would only bring 32 visitors per month.
But currently, this post is ranking for 99 keywords; most of them are variations of the main keyword, 14 of which are in position 1.
And, as a result of that, the monthly traffic to this one post alone is 471.
So, if I had paid attention to Jaaxy, that post wouldn't have been written, on the understanding that it wouldn't be worth it for just 32 visitors.
And so, for the sleep post that Tim is ranking for, although there may be no searches for the "exact match" keyword, he could potentially rank for dozens of different variations of that keyword.
Just my opinion, at the end of the day, of course!
Excellent example. So it is not just your opinion, you have strong facts that confirm what you are saying.
I wanted to say something similar, even wrote a reply to Timotheus, but deleted it to avoid unnecessary arguments. You are right, QSR is meaningless and this has been so for many years.
you are referring to semantic keywords. I am aware of that. of course, if we consider permutations, there would be potential traffic.
but this post is about that one phrase "Why do I keep changing positions while I sleep" being on 1st page.
and I am just trying to help juddpuppy to learn that it alone would not bring enough traffic. as such, good to learn how to find low hanging fruit keywords.
if the general sentiment here is that it is ok. he does not need to learn about that, then so be it.
Tim
I have been doing those searches for low hanging fruit for 3-1/2 years. I have used everyones methods on here that you can find often spending hours at a time looking and analyzing. Keywords with more traffic that I try typically don't get ranked anywhere near the first number of pages due to my authority and competition in a hard niche. I have most success using Parthas methods so far and I will take any attention I can get on page one. I am most interested now days in user intent. I still strive for keys words of all levels of traffic on this site regardless. I appreciate everyones feedback.
