Do you know what format they are in? If in .mp4 format, you may want to upload them to YouTube first and then embed them in your blog.

some are in mp4 format some say MOV . I downloaded from my android phone and my wifes Iphone. But some after downloading to my pics wont show up even in the folder I put them in . they sort of disappeared. what is this upload to you tube? I normally just have to click on the add image icon in site content where I am writing and select a file. are videos different? I do not know how to do anything with you tube. Never used it for anything.
Uploading directly to your wordpress can hinder site speed. It is better if upload to a YouTube created channel and embed shared in your blog

What I would do is first ask Site Support to create a staging siterubix subdomain. Then I'd create the look I want and finally change the content by removing anything not required then start adding new until ready to ask Site Support to update my main site.
Time efficient? Well, whatever you do will take the time it takes.

In my media library somehow many of my pics have been duplicated, Some four and five times. All duplicated instances say they are attached to the same post where I have used
this could be a plugin creating all the different sizes, large, med small and thumbnail to be used in different places....
not unusual for some image plugins...

You can try Media Cleaner. However, I clean it as I go along with each use so that it doesn't get cluttered with unwanted media files.

This is very likely due to missing alt tags in featured images. I have seen this recently in my two sites (with the same theme) and this was due to some unknown theme-related problems. Alt tags were missing in up to 30% of more recent posts. In other sites, with different themes, there were no problems.
So I assume you have a blog roll as your home page, and if so, check featured images in most recent posts one by one.
Alt tags apply to images. They are what Google and Bing "see" when they crawl a post or page containing images. They are normally applied when you insert the image from your media library.

I presume it refers to your logo or header image.
If you go to your Media Library and click on the image, you will see where to add it.
