YouTube Ranking Above Websites?
I've noticed on all the keyword I'm first page on, I'm only behind YouTube videos. Is there a reason these YouTube videos are ranking above my website and I can't seem to pass them? I've passed all other websites just want to get that #1 spot!

Also, Google has access to more information about YouTube, so it can more accurately see keywords, titles, transcriptions, and data about a particular user (trust factor)
What do you think about embedding another's video into your site (within the same niche and keyword)? Beneficial?
I'm thinking it's so important to get people to feel your site is useful that it's worth it. Of course make plans to do your own when possible. Just my opinion.

Well since Google owns YouTube, I suppose they can cherry pick and rank them higher. Is this happening in Bing, etc. Or did you only check Google?
Was just curious if the search results look the same in other search engines. If not, Google probably is ranking a site they own (YouTube) higher. I've noticed more traffic from Bing lately in my Analytics.
I think it's because youtube videos have higher page rank than other websites. I do have some personal sites who have surpassed youtube videos but only after being up for a long time!
What about other video forms? I`m competing with some guys who like to throw up different types of embedded videos.
That's what I figured. Is it the higher page rank plus the views to their videos? Or would it be beneficial for me to make a youtube video and throw it up on my site and youtube and link them together?
@choppydo I haven't seen any other comp in my keywords from other embedded videos..only YouTube.
Choppydo, I think youtube videos have the highest PR and they will beat other sites like metacafe and dailymotion anyday. Not sure about the embedded videos though. I would venture to guess it's the same thing.
Jtstretch, I think it's a combination of the higher PR and views. It wouldn't make sense if a youtube video with say 100 views beat your site that had 1,000 visits. So I think views and comments + likes plays a major role.
In fact, I was helping this one business make their website appear for those looking for their keywords. They had a youtube video posted which had over 100,000 views. I told them to link that youtube video to their page and now their page is #1 for the targeted keyword. I think this experience may be useful to your site as well!
I`m having trouble with embedding. The wordpress support says all I have to do is upt the url and it`ll appear when viewed but it doesn`t.

@Choppydo I just embedded one by just posting the link to the video (the URL) and then highlighting it and clicking unlink..it worked like a charm

I think google is always putting youtube first if it's relevant, why don't you create some video too and seo keyword it as well.
