Hiding Comments
Here is something I never noticed on my WA posts before but which I find very strange.
Could the back office at WA actually be hiding comments?
On my WA posts, there are weird comment totals that do not match up.
Here is my recent post "Golden Keywords" which as you can see to date has 122 Comments and 84 Likes.
Yet when I counted the ACTUAL number of VISIBLE comments on this post, there were only 70 comments.
Now if people actually deleted some of their comments, which are VERY RARE on any of my WA posts (over 400 of them), then the number of deleted comments would be subtratced from the 122 comment total.
But that hasn't happened, so no one deleted any comments.
Where did the other 52 comments go?
Does anyone here have a theory, and can someone please give me an explanation?
Could the back office be "hiding" some of these comments, but they are actually there and still being counted?
This was a helpful and highly engaged post, so I really don't see any reason why they (the back office) would hide those 52 additional comments from view - if this is EVEN a practical theory.

Kind of strange but I generally go by the likes and tally it up that way. Although some don't do a like so the odd few can be discounted. Then you have the extra comments on it. So no biggie on that one. Not sure what to say.

This has nothing to do with "Likes" Debs. This is only about the comments. There is a discrepancy of 52 comments between all the comments that are "visible" (total of 70) and the number of comments recorded (122).
It appears folks are commenting, the meter is accounting fr those comments, but those comments (or at least certain member's comments) have now been made invisible by the back office.
When I said the likes it was a way in ''I tally stuff up.'' Not saying you tallying them up Kaju. AS I said no biggie on the likes, comments, nor the tally. They are plain to see... So no biggie..

Like I said.. I do hope you find the right answer Kaju. I am intrigued also what the right answer is . I hope there is an explanation..

Very strange. I think this needs to be followed up with Kyle and/or Carson. This could be an issue for those doing training blogs. Jim
I'm reading that a lot of people don't think it's an issue, but arwn_t we paid for training by the number of people that respond to it? If so then the same system could be counting those wrong as well. Jim

This really CAN be an issue, Jim. You are totally correct for the reasons you state: we are PAID (albeit a small commission, but that's not even the point) according to achieving graduated engagement levels partly based on the # of comments in our training. How WA Training Payments Work
Probably went the same place that comments on facebook sometimes go ... because FB/GOOGLE/TWITTER/ETC Know Better than You do, what You Need To See

I count only 70 comments on Golden Keywords post of yours. Very weird it says 122. Where did the other 52 comments go?
Or maybe a better question is: why does the system think there were 122 comments. It isn't sure that there ever were, but maybe the system is counting something double somewhere.... bugs in the software.
Maybe best to write a little private message to Carson about it, if they haven't already noticed this post by now.

Steve, I could have sworn that "visibly" I did see MANY more comments a few days ago when the counter was like 100 something.
And since more comments have come in to make it now 122, VISIBLY there are many less!
I think the back office is definitely hiding those 52 comments.
But why? This wasn't a controversial post, this was straight-forward and engaging and helpful one.

It's hard to understand why this happened. Also, it's not easy to get an answer on anything other than website issues.

Hi, again Kaju. Well, that was something I was going to touch on in my last response to you. I haven't received credits earned at various levels for training I've created! Maybe I don't understand the system, but I believe that's not the case.
LOL!! Hi Kaju, I was wondering if you are counting every comment...even your responses...because I believe those are counted in the number as well.
I think it is similar to Facebook...If only one person responds to a post then I reply to them it shows as 2 comments. I wonder if WA's comment count is the same. Have you counted your responses in that total?

It really doesn't I suppose, but we are still intrigued and want to know the answer (at least I do).
Actually I will step my last comment back partially. If this carries over to WA Training, provided my "Golden Keywords" posts example isn't an isolated incident, this certainly CAN affect the money we make in commissions.
The reason is we are PAID (albeit a small commission, but that's not even the point) according by achieving graduated engagement levels partly based on the # of comments in our training.
