I believe Boris has already answered your question about this. How to add partner to my wa account? Kyle will teach you how to build your WP website using Siterubix in the training. After that, just follow what Boris told you so your friend can take care of the rest. Or watch this How to Create a New User in Wordpress

Thank you, Trish, for bringing this to my awareness. It was a sequence of confusion not finding the right places, not seeing the question posted, and the third, and last one was trying to send Kyle a PM ;-)
I'm way too seldom here ...

You need to make him a user/administrator of your WP website's backend. You don't need to give him access to your WA account.
Create your website in WA. Login into WP backend. Create new user for your friend.

Hi Jenna great to hear from you again.
You will need to contact site support to help you out as it is not as simple with Wix compared to just transferring a website to WA. They don't like you moving elsewhere, and make is difficult for some.
Here is a link that will help you understand more, but sending a ticket to site support is your best best as they have done this in the past for other members here doing the same as you.

Andre, as I am busy with my business and most of what I learned about WP is outdated, a friend will support me with recreating my website in WP.
Can he be my team partner here at WA?

Hi Jenna you can add your friend as a user on your website and there you can give your friend the authority to make changes. Just becareful what authority you give them if you give then Admin that can not only do the things you want but also any errors made will affect your website plus as an admin they can easily delete your site as well.
So be careful with what you do.
As for your username here in WA the only way to be a partner here would be to give him access and password to log in which I dont' recomment.

WA site support will help you to move it.
