Temperate Tuesday Travails & Tasks!
Hello everyone here in Wealthy Affiliate!
I received an early morning phone call from my Locksmith buddy, Kevin up in Nebraska! He was having to go to the emergency room. There was some pain in his abdomen that was almost unbearable!
At the time of this call, I was just starting into my normal daily routine perusing the Wealthy Affiliate Community blog posts. This surprising call set the tone for this temperate day.
Monica had already left on some errands, one of which was dropping her middle daughter off to the high school, so it was just myself and the furry assistants still at the house!
Tig-Tig was attempting to snooze on her window perch, and not at all interested in what I was doing. The Blog Dogs were moving around out in the living room.
My concentration wasn't the best as I was hoping Kevin would be okay! Even though he has a locksmith business, he is still putting in evening shifts at the railroad to finance the expensive equipment that he has been purchasing over the last couple of years.
He said that his pain was bad enough that his mother, who only lives a few miles away, was on her way to pick him up and take him over to the hospital. He was supposed to have been coming down on Saturday for four days, but I wasn't worried about that anymore.
I allowed the Blog Dogs to go outside before I left for the eBay house to pack an eBay order which had sold and to also take care of some more of the endless tasks awaiting me there.
By the time I arrived there, the Sun had pushed away a few of the clouds, and the morning was shaping up to be quite nice. It had been about 2 1/2 hours since the call from Kevin, when he started texting me that he was okay.
Apparently he had an inflamed digestive tract, and he was being released from the hospital soon. He will not go back to work until Thursday, and he said that he still intends to come down as planned! WOW, he is a strong individual!
I managed to get in a little more Wealthy Affiliate research after I got my package shipped out. After the way the morning started, I needed to get some semblance of my routine back on track.
I took another picture of the day outside on my street looking North, and lo and behold I caught Humphrey at the right edge of the image! (He always shows up either a day before or right on HUMP day!)
Sadly, there were no locksmith calls that came into today, except for one which I am not equipped to do. It sure would have been a good day to do them, except that a few hours later, the sky became very cloudy, and it looks like we were starting to have some rain.
The above image was taken as I was heading home early since Monica is off. She might not be home, but I hope to spend a little time with her either way this evening!
I HOPE THAT EVERYONE HAD AN EXCELLENT DAY! TOMORROW IS YET ANOTHER HUMP DAY!

I'll bring baklava, it will be gluten-free, but with real whipped cream, you won't know the difference. It will have pecans in it this time and honey. I hope you can eat that.
Butter makes the pastry puff apart. It's good!
Might as well bring the other half of the puff pastry as a meat and cheese dish. I love to bake so it will be good!

Barb,
Good cook, pastries are a fave to make. I am gluten-free as I have Celiac's but adapt recipes for the best flavor or just make things that are grain-free or with rice. There are many types of rice as well, with different flavors from around the world.
Corn is often GMO, except tortillas, as the native Mexicans do not want GMO, nor do I. So no corn oil, no soy oil, no cottonseed oil. I like butter. or coconut! oil.
There is a GF Jules, as in gluten free Jules. she gives out many recipes, just from an email subscription. And does have the best 1 to 1 substitute flour with excellent results, even if it costs, it makes life better.
So life is not bad, things did not end, so long as I don't get gluten, so no wheat of any kind or relations of wheat, no barley (malt) no rye, and oats are to be cautious of because of cross-contamination. This is from using the same harvesting equipment, or food processing equipment.
Hey, the glycemic index of a small Snickers bar is 41, and a slice of whole wheat bread is 72. Who knew?

Sorry to learn about Kevin's severe pain, and good to know that he recovered well and still intending to spend time with you this coming weekend.
I didn't realise that Humphrey is free to roam the streets. How wonderful that it is! I hope he is well respected by motorists etc.

I am so glad too, Valerie! We shall see if he still makes it. This has been in the planning stages for weeks, but life does have that way of getting in the way!
I have almost hit Humphrey many times on the road in the past, but he also tends to frequent restaurants on occasion, as well! 🐫
