A Little Disappointed

I don't know how to feel about this...

So I joined or should I say was invited to join a facebook group for helping to promote online business and get advice and some extra feedback on my website. I sent them my link for my baby site in which I have a work from home post for moms and a widget with a nice baby pic for the free 7 days and 2 free websites...

When I received feeback from one of the owners of the FB page/group I was told that promoting Wealthy Affiliate just screams desperate..... Well.... I have a whole other website dedicated to just that so how am I supposed to feel about this information?

I couldn't voice how I really felt because I didn't want to be rude seeing as how I asked for advice so I just said thank you and left it at that.

I also had someone on that same feed invite me to join clickfunnels which I thought was kind of rude seeing as how I just wanted a little feedback.

How would you respond to this?

FB groups can offer exceptional value if as marketers we are selective about which ones we join and how we choose to engage.

Some groups offer little to no value, just brush this experience off, the key when joining groups is to pick up the vibe of the group and agendas of the admins, prior to engaging.

Groups in this genre, can be all about pushing a product or program disguised as providing help.

In such groups there will be a lot of snipers, pushing there own agendas.

If you are looking for feedback, have you tried WA?

thank you.

I think you handled it well by saying thank you. Decline the Clickfunnels invitation. These kinds of scenarios are awkward. Take a deep breath and don't think about it.

true. Thank you.

I think it's just as well you left.

Yes. It is.

What kind of scheme does the group recommend you promote?

Honestly, don't know. But i'm out.

You cannot please all of the people all of the time. Do not dwell on this and do not respond. Just move on and din’t Look back. This is just Marketing.

All you need to find are the people that like you and want to follow you. That will be your ‘tribe’. It may take a little time. But, there is little stress in interacting with people that you like, and likes you in return.

You have done the right thing. That is it, finished, job done, move on.

That business. Have a nice day!

Well said. Thank you.

Leave the group, and not respond, obviously it is for clickfunnels be careful of joining any marketing group most of the time its for their own marketing group related to marketing other affiliate programs especially clickfunnels. Its a very expensive program and a lot of up sells. I know I cant afford it. Most have success with organic traffic and social media, like twitter, IG, YouTube, Pinterest. I steer clear from FB groups. You can get the ban from some groups if not careful.

thanks, I feel this way also. I haven't been back.

I think I'd leave that group.

definitely.

LOL, this is a funnel group from a moron obviously. His/her whole purpose of the group is to degrade other programs and push their own as a better alternative. Clickfunnels is a great program, don't get me wrong but it's expensive and overkills if you are just starting out. You can do the same job with a blog and autoresponder if you apply yourself to training your brain. This party was acting like a bully trying to make you back down and cower to their insight with a baseless accusation. There is nothing desperate about promoting wealthy affiliate but his/her tactic was desperate and tasteless. I would have told them exactly that and accepted being banned from the group lol.

Thank you. I haven't been back to the group board since. I just didn't feel good about it after that. And although the link I received was from someone else, It could have been a marketing tactic. I'm not good with social media, and just didn't like the way he said it screamed desperate. Not a good feeling at all. Thanks for the reply.

The bottom line is that the owner of the group has final say as to what is permissible in his/her group.

Your intent was altruistic. I wouldn't let it bother you. Just chalk it up to experience and move on.

thank you! True. Just let it go..

Take a deep breath and just let it go.

We're going to run into all kinds of people from one extreme to the other.

I'd leave that group if you haven't already and continue working on your website(s).

Have a great week!

Mel

Thanks Mel.
