My success shortcut

For all of my friends who have been following and mentoring me, I am sorry for my absence over the past two weeks. Things have been a bit hectic. So, how do you like the headline? After reading so much of the advice of Kyle and others, I felt that there had to be a way of jump-starting my business. Thus began my quest to find a shortcut to wealth. Being blessed with capital from my cashed 401K, I set out to create cash-flow.
After exhaustive keyword research, niche research and finding seemingly great offers, I purchased 21 domains and hosted them with a reseller account. I then hired 10 contractors to write content, do SEO and any white hat marketing they could to get traffic. Many people do this, so I wanted to give an incentive. Any net profit from sites they produce would be theirs for 30 days after the "go live" of their site. Well, it didn't work. I do now have 14 professionally designed sites that are gorgeous, but no traffic. There is the occasional visitor who leaves comments every day or two, but I don't know how they are finding the sites, since they are invisible to Google.
Kyle says it over and over, and now I know it is the truth. There is no shortcut to success. The sites will eventually make money, but there is no fast forward button. There are also other problems associated with hiring contractors. First, no matter how well you explain what you want, it will not be what you envisioned upon completion. Second, no matter how aggressive your performance bonus, the success of the endeavor will never be as important to them as it is to you. Third, You don't learn anything about the business. Now that I've had my little experiment, I've got to go back and learn how to do things that I didn't want to do. Finally, you never know how quickly you can go through a lot of money until you have employees.
I am so hardheaded! Being an optimist, I just know that things will go my way. The thing is, when someone who has extensive experience tells you what to expect, you should probably listen to them. I believe in being positive, and the law of attraction, but this should be tempered with common sense. Finally, I leaned that you should start out doing everything yourself. You can't lead others if you don't know what you are doing. As the legendary Jim Rohn said "You can't hire someone else to do your pushups for you". Wishing you all the best...
