Drone Application Filed
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Amazon has applied to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for permission to begin testing drones on its corporate property. The drones would eventually be used to deliver small packages of approximately 5 pounds each, to Amazon's customers worldwide. Like we don't have enough pollution to deal with. How do you think this will impact the already "crowded" airspace? Perhaps there will be more work for the ATC (Air Traffic Controllers). Many factors to consider but time will tell.
Some of the drones I have seen on TV are designed to look like birds. You wouldn't even realize you were seeing a drone, not a bird.
It's just amazing what people can do any more! Personally I don't see how this can work, but then again I'm not the smartest person on the block either!
I think it would be complicated, but part of Amazon's argument is that drones are already widely in use as a hobby or recreational use, without regulation.
