A New Year Reminder about Sitecomments
Hi everyone! I have found it necessary to write a reminder about Sitecomments again.

Since last time I must say that Sitecomments have improved, but there are still some issues I would like to adress. regarding this.
It seems like not all knows how to write a quality comment and get very surprised when they are disapproved so I will repeat it.
1. Read the Article - Use time - Click in links
When someone ask for a comment the first thing you need to do is to read the Article.and click on the links in the article.Normally it takes some minutes at least to read an article.
Yesterday I submitted some articles where I paid to get some gomments because I had no time for giving comments myself. My articles were over 2000 - 3000 words.. You should at least use some minutes to read the articles.
I checked Google analytics afterwards on how long time each person spent on reading the articles.before submitting a comment.
Only one person used 5 minutes on the article which I found out was an appropriate time to read the article, click on links.
One person spent 10 seconds which is not enough to read an article for over 3000 words. Barely enough to read the Headline and the Intro. It was very obvious in the comment as well that this person had not used time on reading the article because the comment was very generic and was not very genuine. Only general terms around the headline topic. The comment consisted of 3 sentences which started with a thank you and ended with this was interesting.
The rest used between 1-2 minutes on reading the articles.
If you are commenting on posts - please use time to read the whole article. Click on links. This way you help the members who are asking for the comments.

What is the author asking for.
1. Questions about the topic
2. Discussion about the topic
3.. Experience with the topic
4.Opinion
3. Be genuine Not Generic
Write how this article helps you ,questions or thoughts - not how it can help everyone else, because you can not talk on behalf of others.
4. Do not Use butter on Cream
Many start a comment with Thank you for writing this interesting article...... And then again ends the comment with. This was an interesting article indeed. This is totally unnecessary and will give no value for the reader. It is better not to write a comment if you have no Idea what to write. This is what we in Norway call putting butter on cream.
5. Use I instead of We when you write
You are writing a comment as yourself. You are not We. You do not represent any other than yourself when you write.
6. Write more than 3 sentences
3 sentences is absolutely minimum on a comment. If you find that hard without writing thank you for an interesting article and ending with this article was interesting - Do not comment.
You will most probably be disapproved.if you do.
7. Add value for other readers
Adding some new perspectives, views, opinions, experiences or questions are good ways to add some extra value for other readers.
8. Do not give feedback in a comment
Feedback is not a comment. We have our own site for feedback. Comments are different than feedback.
Feedback: talks about how the article is structured, grammar, the layout, colours, pictures etc.
Comments: Is about the topic and content in the article
9. Be HOT
Be as Honest, Open,Trustable you can when you give comments.
10. Write about the product in the article
I have had to disapprove comments that adress totally different products. One example of this was when I wrote a SEMrush review and got a comment on only Jaaxy instead.
The article is about a topic. Keep your comment relevant fo the topic. You can mention other products if it is relevant to do so, but do not make a comment mentioning all other products than what is asked for.
My tips!
1. Use time to read the article and reflect on the article. Use at least 3- 5 minutes. Do not assume from the headline that you know what this article is about.
2. If the article portrays any products - use time to discuss if you like this product or not and if you agree with the author or not about what is written. Would you like to try this product? Why? If you do not like to try it - Why not? Be honest
3. If you have no idea what to write - Do not write a comment
4. If the article have a question at the end ex: which one of these products, tips, advice etc do you find most interesting. Please answer and comment on any questions in the article.
5. Use your experience. Tell a story if you have a relevant one. Pretend your best friend wrote this article.
6. It is better to ask one question than writing 4 sentences without any value. ex. Thank you, this was interesting, This can be good for people who.... etc.
7. Be relevant and add new Value.

I agree that a person should spend the time reading the article and checking out the links provided. There are those that read the articles and click the links and offer good comments but are disapproved. I, personally, read all of the article and at times take notes on the article for future use but will be disapproved. I try to make my comments relevant to the article. I do not believe in not giving an HONEST comment. It may not be what the author wants to read but it is just as valuable as one where the author is praised for a bad article. I can only give HONEST OPINIONS.

All good points Hilde but occasionally the post is so badly written that it is difficult to write a decent comment. It does cut both ways. I would hate to be too harsh if the content is poor. We all need encouragement.
I've been delighted with the comments I have been getting and giving. No problems.

Quite frankly, I don't remember the last time I requested a comment. I stopped because of the low quality...
I prefer to request comments in the comment thread instead. At least I give and get quality comments back.
People are so in a hurry, I don't know why they can't just take 5 minutes to read the whole article.
Also, this increases your bounce rate, which is pretty bad...
One of the main things I do now instead of making blog posts is offering site comments. It sure takes a bit more time than making comments to posts on here but it sure helps the actual money sites of WA affiliates - which is what a community is for- helping each other grow.

Important message. This can´t be repeated enough. Honest, genuine and engaged. If I see that the article is not of any interest I don´t read or comment on the article. Further, it is important to read what feedback is requested.
It is not about doing as many comments as possible but providing value.
