For posts as well as pages.
The key thing about your content is that it has to be genuinely helpful to people. That's what Google rewards the most as they want to provide the most useful websites in response to their users' searches.
Longer copy does seem to rank better, but a long article that is long just because it has a lot of words in it won't beat a post that is helpful.
So I would suggest focus on the quality of the content as your main aim.

I would even say that the second one is better.
Both won't bring you that much traffic, but you will rank easier for the second one.
It's a so called "low hanging fruit keyword".
The first one would bring you a little more traffic, but the competition is a lot higher. Therefore you might not get the potential traffic, if you can't manage to rank high.
If they are keywords for different topics, then you can use both and write two articles.
If they are for the same topic, then I would use the second one.

How do I show a post in one of the pages in the menu? It should stay on the blog roll as well.

This is not category page. You add it in any submenu or as a separate item in menu. You overlooked the first part of my text.
Ok. i get what you mean. i probably wanted the post to be pasted in the page and not to show in the menu but maybe its not meant to be like that. thanks

I have found a more suitable domain name that is available. Should i switch? Does it make any difference? I have only published my first post yet.
Certainly if it's easier to remember for visitors and more "related" as you say.
It's for life and if you aren't happy with it then that's going to bug you for ages. Peeps DO remember the domain - believe me!

I wouldn't worry too much about your domain name. People are more likely to click on a link that is relevant to what they are searching for and high in the search engine rankings and don't really take into consideration what the domain name is.

As Michelle said the longer the better, but depending on the keyword an 800-word article could rank well.
