What anti-spam plugin do you recommend other than Akismet?
Is using anti span plugin important?
Or just annoying that you get spam emails?
Hey Greg,
Once I moved my sites to the WA servers, I removed my spam plugins as spam filtering is done by the servers here... and I have had to remove my Contact form from my contact page.
Now all I do is provide my email address using HTML characters where there is punctuation so that scrapping software won't find my email address to spam me with, but my visitors can easily highlight, copy and paste if they want to reach me.
Hope you find this helpful.
I have my sites here as well but still getting spam emails, not sure If I should be worried about this ...
LOL, I added to my comment once I thought about what your issues may entail. Check out my additional information to see if that helps any.

I assume the spam protection feature is turned ON in your WA site details settings? It blocks all automated spam. I haven't seen any of those since that was introduced.
What might get through is when a person actually visits your site and leaves a spam comment. Is that the kind of spam you are getting? It might be the same culprit/s over and over again.
Those can be blocked in:
WP Settings: > Discussion > Comment Blacklist.

Hi Jude, I'm just getting spam emails from different sources, I will try the plugin nathaniell suggested.
Yes, the Spam feature is ON.
Thank you for stopping by!

How can I know if my theme is good? Is it SEO friendly, good enough to build a serious business etc? My website is moving forward and doing better, I'm thinking if I should sta
If your site is doing well, then maybe you don't need to change. That being said, a faster, more mobile friendly theme with better UX could really boost you to new levels.
Then again, it might just be a waste of time to make you feel better about having a "nice" looking website.
There's nothing wrong with taking a risk though! If you have the time, the money, and the desire to improve your site, and you think changing themes to something more professional would benefit your business, I saw go for it.
If you aren't moving forward, then you're moving backward!
But if you have other things to do, it sounds like changing the theme is not a pressing issue, and could be saved for when you have more time.
You can check your site speed, see whether your pages and post are mobile-friendly or responsive as they used to call it. All-In-One SEO and Yoast are two good solutions to help make your site more SEO friendly. But, your content is what will matter the most in the long run.
I wouldn't concentrate too much on the theme. You can have a great theme but bog it down with plugins and other resources. Also, if a site is relatively new, it will be slower to rank than a seasoned site. Also, remember that a niche such as Make Money Online (MMO) is much more competitive than other niches. So, you may be led to believe that your theme is the problem when in fact, it could be the niche itself. This doesn't mean people can't make it with MMO, it just takes more time.
Overall, keep your eye on your analytics and if you have taken all the right steps from the training here at WA and the rankings don't change much over time, then you can explore theme changes. But, do give it enough time.
Best Regards,
Jim

When I put the link to my website for example on Facebook, there is no image visible, link doesn't generate an image either though I have some image set as featured on my front
Hey Greg,
The following video may offer you the help you seek: Fix Facebook Post Images Not Showing If not, do check out the link below the video as it offers a second option.
Hope you find this helpful.
Hi Greg,
I had the same problem for Facebook and one of the issues was the picture size. Facebook have a set size for the site image.
I used the plugin Facebook Thumb fixer and it worked. Try using that to solve your issue.
Good luck,
Ricia

I'm looking for some outsourcing of blog posts / articles for my website
Have you tried iwriter or Fiver? They are a good source of freelance writers. I have used iwriter myself and got some nice results.
Depends on the quality rating and the word count but you could be looking at USD15 to 20 for a good quality 1500 word article
I published a blog within WA recently and included a link for outsourcing.
It might be the way to go Publishing Regular Content Robert
