My experience at Wealthy Affiliate - week 23 part 2

I am trying to post my regular update for this week before my internet starts playing up. I have had the most frustrating couple of days both Friday morning and tonight, when I kept receiving a script error, which made me fear my laptop might have been corrupted (!!!).

The good news is that I may have fixed it, with a bit of patience and perseverance, but you never know. So, here I go.

A busy week

My week has started on a slow mode, as I didn't do much in the way of writing. I still managed to do a bit of marketing work on my social media accounts, and yes, I did do brain storming for future posts. But not much writing.

What made my week busy, as I anticipated in my last update Monday evening, was the fact that on Thursday I worked for the whole day at one of the local polling stations for UK parliamentary elections, which I always find thrilling and exiting - but inevitably, such a long day normally leaves me knackered.

But, on Friday I went to one of our nephews' wedding. And again, we had the most wonderful day - but again, by the end of the day, a long day, I was exhausted, and this time mostly through tears. Call me soppy, but I always get emotional at weddings!!

As a result of these two very busy days, however, my online work has suffered.

How to catch up on my weekly routine

What I am planning to do is a more detailed list for next week. Ideally I would like to do a couple of reviews and a post. Or two at least.

Ideally I would like to work on a social platform each evening, as I feel I am starting neglecting Twitter.

And ideally I would like to work on automating my tweets. I used to use Tweet Jukebox as free of charge for the first couple of accounts, but I believe there are other alternatives on the market, which I have been meaning to explore for quite some time.

Finally, I would like of course to move forward with the Bootcamp. I am screaming to get to the lessons that introduce you to email subscription tools, as I believe such ways are a great help to increase your traffic.

Am I biting more than I can chew???

Am I too ambitious in my plans? Should I reduce my to do list to more feasible levels?

If I go back to my past updates, the regular trend I hit goes along the lines of 'I planned to do A and B and C. But I ended up doing only A'. And that, in the long run, becomes frustrating.

Then again, if I only plan for A, knowing myself I may not even get around to the half of it!!

I wish I knew myself a little more and better. I wish I could work for longer hours on my online enterprise. But the key is in wanting, so that my motivation never looses its sprint.

Till the next one, have a productive and full of energy week!!

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time :-)

Reaching for the stars, can't go wrong with that...

For sure, difficult things need to be done carefully, meticulously, slowly and with dedication

Oh no, I wouldn't want to eat an elephant at all #lol ...kidding, I know what you mean :)

Yep, you are right. Slow but sure :)

And I am trying Sophie :)

Hmmm, I wonder what elephants taste like..! Do they taste like something else or do they have their own distinctive flavor? And what spices go well with? How about BBQ elephant ribs?

Giulia,

My husband said to me tonight, "Are you finished with your website, is it complete, is it done? Want to know what I told him? It takes 9 months for a baby to be born, not including the months prior to conception.

And Rome and the Wealthy Affiliate were not created in a day.

One step at a time. I'm hard on myself, too, but not after saying that to my husband.

And if feasible is better, than go that route! I think you answered your own question, and you are the only one to know what works best for you. Personally, it's best to concentrate on one thing before going onto the next and that's ok. Preferably go with the site that seems to be the most active. I'm not too sure how many sites you have moving, let alone how many social networks you have, but the the better of them all is the one to concentrate on.

Have a good one Giulia.

Becky :)

That's truly true

OMG sounds like my hubby, He keeps asking me ARE YOU MAKING MONEY YET??? I have only been on here 1 week, chill out! hahahaha

Ladies, I'll make you laugh. I have started a blog for WA (soon to come) about my husband being supportive but also a disbeliever. Is it a hubby thing?!?!?! #lol

I think the mistake I made, Becky, it to start a second website whilst still affirming my first one. And as far as social media goes, I have 4 accounts which I am actively using.
I guess in principle it should all sound pretty feasible... if I were working here full time. But I don't.
I guess I'll have to accept that there is only so much I can do every week.
And Becky, check out my soon to come blog here on my disbelieving hubby #lol

He'll never ask me again, lol! Becky

We have a lot in common, otikoro. Have a good one, Becky :)

Sounds like to me despite your frustration you know exactly what needs to be done.

Someone else on here said, that they had so many likes in one area and not enough in the other. This is basically somewhat relative to your answer. Go with what works best.

Between the two of you I've learned to only want to concentrate on one site at a time before creating a second one.

Kyle can do that, but than he's a seasoned pro.

And we will be too one day.

Thanks for sharing a piece of your world.

Becky

...at least you have started. My difficulty is in starting...overcoming Newton's first law---inertial...

Aaah, don't think you are the only victim of that law. I'm sure we are to blame of inertia at some point or other. If there is one think I have learnt here is to beat the block by just starting typing away, and before you know it, you will have put together some 1500 beautiful words in the shape of a post or review.
Then again, easier said than done...

Keep the fire burning

I'll try Pablo :)

It sounds like you are a bit frustrated because you are not accomplishing as much as you think you should be.

Maybe just planning for A and see how that goes, if you don't complete A, maybe you can do an internal audit to see what's happening at the time you decide you are not going to follow through. That might help get to the bottom of why you are not following through, but then maybe you are just too hard on yourself and expect perfection.

I know that I can get annoyed with myself if I don't complete everything on my to-do list and then I just feel like crap.

Have a great day

You just read me throughout!! And yes, very frustrated. I think it's high time I took a rain check of myself :)

GOOD POST

Thank you Abdul :)

Great posts and thanks for sharing.

You are welcome :)

Thanks for sharing, Giulia.

No problem Roger:)

Take it step by step. Have an ambitious plan for the week. Not to ambitious, otherwise if you don't reach your goals you will be discouraged.

You are right Eric, I need to learn to know myself much better :)

Take the lessons one at a time!

You are right Mike, sometimes I should slow down, at least in my head!!
