So, what is SEO? I know that many people even newcomers to WA know what this is, but I just wanted to kind of make this lucid to those who are still kind of confused about what SEO REALLY is.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) gives Internet users the ability to look through the net for anything by allowing them to input a set of words (keywords) into the search engine. It is here that the search engine then shows you relevant websites for traffic to look at. SEO will increase the odds of a website being shown on the search engine results which will in turn supplement the amount of visitors to one’s website. SEO works by optimizing your website in terms of having a higher rating inside a search engine’s first page rating. However, if black hat SEO is utilized instead of white hat SEO, it can cause your site to not be able to make it into the page rankings at all.
So on to the big question, why does it take so long?
Before actually touching this area any further, you kind of need to know how search engines actually operate. Search engines utilize spiders to look at each aspect of your website, once the pages have been analyzed, they will be indexed and kept in a search engines database. This in itself can be a very prolonged procedure. In turn, old sites have a bigger rating in contrast to recently developed sites, because of the amount of time that spiders have had in indexing their material.
Timely Building Blocks of SEO
- ·It takes time in adding the content of a site. It requires the examining and writing of material. Search engines give applause to sites that are loaded with keywords and as a result increase that particular sites rating in the Search Engine.

- ·Each alteration that is added to your website slows down the SEO undertaking because you are adding new material that “spiders” have to look at, and also because of the fact that most people who post new material always have to go back and fix or add something, so this can kind of make the operation a little more lethargic per say. However, the modification set forth really serve as benefactors to your website. It really takes time to be put on the first page in the search engine results.
- ·SEO results also rely upon the sort of category that your site falls under. The larger the category, the more time it will take to optimize your website because of the amount of rivals in that very same area. One cannot really suppose that their site is going to make it to the first page on the search engine if their industry is bombarded with other high caliber sites.
- ·Odds are that your rivals probably utilized the exact same keywords that you had picked to kind of boost your site up the page ranking, so only with time will you be able really see your site go through your competitors on the rungs of the ladder.
- ·It will not matter what category you really fall in when it comes to just simply getting ranked onto the search engine. While it may not land on the first page for quite a long period of time, it is important to note that you should start seeing the first results of SEO in the first 3-4 months of it actually being put on the search engine. This is surely inevitable, in spite of the fact that you are not totally done with your site.
- ·Notably, it is very crucial for you to update your keywords since there will always be new rivals coming into the same category that you are in, so if you really want to get the upper hand and have your site moving ahead of the rankings, then you should definitely be sure to do this.

I have "duplicated material" according to webmaster tool and do not know how to solve the issue. Any idea?
Not possible. And i still have 16 duplicated things, while my site contains only about 35 pages and posts. No sense at all.
Hi floridajf, great article!
I have question regarding duplicated material.
In my site I have a 'Featured Post' page where a single post from my blog is selected as a 'Featured Post' and is shown in both my blog and on the 'Featured Post' page.
Does this count as duplicated material? And if so, is there a solution as I'd really like to keep this feature.
Thanks Paul.
That would not count as a duplicate because it is a feature on your website. It would count as a duplicate if you were to use the exact same post all the time, but just change some things or add on to it.
Nice reminder for those of us who aren't new to SEO but are impatient (that'd be me). It's just like building a house. You can't just slap some bricks and glue together and put a door on it and claim it's liveable. It's a process requiring the right materials, tools, a lot of time, paitience, double-checking and correcting of mistakes. Then, once you have it, you have to maintain it. Work is involved, and it takes time, but it's worth it. :)
Right on the target there Kinya, that is exactly what I was trying to show people. Glad to see that you learned a lot from this :) Thanks for stopping by :D
It would be really helpful if you pointed those people to this blog if you see that they are having this very same question. Thanks again :)
