Tip 61 : use titles
Use titles
Make sure to use titles in your text!
Titles are a way to:
- Catch attention
- Give some guidance and
- Structure your text
So make sure to use them since they give depth to your text and highlight the main thoughts!
Catch attention
Make sure to have a good title to catch the attention of your reader. This is called the hook. And if possible with great keywords. This is called low hanging fruits. . You can check this with the jaaxy tool.
For example:
'Tip 61'
This title means nothing, except that it is a tip and the 61th in row. No further information. Curiosity will work once, but many will skip this kind of title. It has no real meaning.
'Tip 61: use titles'
This title is more informative. It is a tip about using titles in your texts. The reader knows the content and will be invited to read if interested in the topic. It is a peaceful way of skipping, instead of clicking and scrolling in case you are not interested.
Give guidance
A title can be an instruction on how to proceed. It helps the reader to focus for answers to his problems. This is used abundantly in technical texts and exposes.
No need to tell more.
Structure your text
A page full of text is like a blank page. Nobody wants to read that. The effort is for the reader to go through the text and eventually find some answers or information. Very tiring if you ask me. No matter what is written it will be skipped.
How to use titles
You can use
- headers of all kind
- formatting like bold, italic, and alignment
- Layout with lists and indents
- Images
All those will level up your text and give it the right focus. Be consistent.

Writing poems i use bold and italic and indent
Still working on mine but thanks for the guidance.
What is the real choice and reason behind a 'Page' and a "Post'?
one goes into the blog roll (post) and the other doesn't (page).
the page is more static information - like a sales page - where you don't want interaction and the postis dynamic where you want continual feedback and added content of comments.
normally the site is arranged so the posts link to pages.
good luck

Thanks Fleeky!
Is there a selection of fonts in Wordpress or are we stuck with just the one?
KyleAnn
it does depend on the theme - if you try the generatepress theme then you get to control which fonts you use - or you could try wpedit plugin and add the buttons to allow font selection.
always try out new themes on a test site - add in your current theme and then add the new on to see whether there are any probems if you decide to change - put a couple of dummy posts and pages to see the effect.
Hello KyleAnn
Here is a plugin that will give you more options.
After you download and activate it just go into settings and choose what functions you want.
