Hey Edgar,
Asked Google your question and... the answer is in the screen print below...
Hope you find this helpful.
Thank you for settling my confusion. I always believed they were not affiliated links so thank you.
I did follow up with her, but she never reached back. She must have started her Christmas break early. But thank you for the help, it really did clear things up.

Is a deep link the same as our affiliate link?

I'm with Awin, so I'm glad to explain.
The advertisers usually provide links to their home page and main categories, and sometimes to their top sellers.
You may choose to review a specific product on their site. For best conversions, you would want to create a deep link specifically to that product to use on your post. If you use the deep link tool provided by the network, it will automatically include all of your affiliate information ensuring you will receive credit for the sale just as you would through any of the general links.
Thank you so much. Since they had different names I was confused if it still meant affiliated link. Thank you for the clarification!

I was thinking off adding short videos or gifs into my posts. Videos that do not require linking to YouTube as they are incredibly short (about 8 seconds). Can uploading them l

I use Thrive Architect. You simply drag and drop the video element where you want it and then indicate its source, such as YouTube, Vimeo, Uploaded Video etc. If you choose Uploaded Video, you are taken to your Media Library, where you can upload the video if it's not already there.
I imagine you can do something similar with the WordPress block editor.
I have never heard of that, but it seems interesting to try out. And perhaps Uploaded video might be good if I do not have a YouTube channel yet. Thank you for this.
Hey Edgar,
You will see that you can get more attention to your videos when you create your own YouTube channel and upload your videos (ones you make) there and then embed them in your relevant posts.
Doesn't matter if the videos are short or long.
Uploading videos to your Media Marketing will only serve to slow your site down when loading in a browser. So, you really do not want to be uploading them.
Check this article out: https://www.wp101.com/10-reasons-why-you-should-never-host-your-own-videos/
Hope you find this helpful.
You are right that they will have a slower loading speed I just mainly saw them as a nice decorative piece to my posts. I did not know that small videos should still be YouTube videos, thank you for that.

If someone purchases something from your link within 24hours, how long does it take for that to appear in your reports? For the most part I see clicks but no conversions or any
Hi
If the sales were made in accordance to Amazon's terms and conditions, then they should show on your dashboard.
Hopefully that's now been figured out.
Hi - I note you said you received no credit for a sale. Was it a friend or family member? If so, you don't receive a commission, it is against Amazon's terms and conditions.
It was related to someone messaging on my socials telling me they bought a nice chair thanks to me. While I cannot guarantee they actually used my link or not. I am curious to know if I did get credit or not and if I did I do not see it yet on my Amazon reports.
If you are entitled to commission, it will show up when the item is shipped. And remember, that Amazon's cookie is only 24 hours, so if they decided to buy it later, you wouldn't be paid.
However, I have actually written a post today about Amazon and social media that you may wish to read. Amazon Links and Social Media
Ohh okay. So only when shipped. Do you happen to know that if perhaps they used my links conversion, ordered, or shipped items are updated before it shows any commissions?
Or does all of that appear when as you said "it has all been shipped?"
For amazon, it takes a few days of the sale to show up as revenue in your account. You will only get credit after the product is shipped out.
Do conversions and ordered items appear before that though? Or does it all get updated all at a later time.
Products will appear on your report when the purchaser pays for it. and you will also see a report when it is shipped. There are multiple columns on the report. Payment to an associate is at end of month but there is a delay of 60 days to accommodate possible returns.
Damn, then it seems I may have not gotten credit for a sale even though they used my link. But thank you for the info, this has helped.
Make sure you content is really helpful. That helps visitors to click and buy. Not every will buy the more helpful the more likely visitors will buy.

Some clarification please. But does Google Analytics only show your views and standings from Google or does it also take into account Yahoo and Bing?
Hi
You may review below resource going forward
https://webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/99341/does-google-analytics-also-count-visitors-from-bing-yahoo-and-yandex
Hope this helps.
Yes Google will shovel them in with the rest of the search providers in an attempt to appear as if they own the internet or something such. Then you have a bigger number you know nothing about.
However, if you want to know how many clicks you have coming in from say Bing you NEED to sign up for Webmaster's Tools.
Google Analytics and Google Search Console are for monitoring the activity of those who use Google.
Bing has separate tools for monitoring your uses activity with you site using Bing. You can check classrooms for Bing setup = Jay has some webinars on it.
Hey Edgar,
You may find Google's explanation helpful: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2795821?hl=en#zippy=,in-this-article as I found this, simply searching your question on Google.
Hope you find this helpful.
Only google, you will need to a microsoft account to set up analytics for bing and yahoo
check out this training Getting Your Site Ready for Search Engines
There is nothing in that specific training which will actually help the OP, that training is about setting up "The SEO Framework" plugin, not Google or any other tracking analytics.
You can set up webmaster by following this training by Kyle How to Create a Bing Webmaster Tools Account
You really need all three, "Analytics, Search Console and Webmaster's Tools" and if you sign up for all three in the proper order they can all three be set up and verified in less than a half an hour. I have been at this a long time, trust me the proper order makes a HUGE difference in the time and frustration saved. Especially if talking to a novice.
Bing and Yahoo have their own tracking, Google does NOT track them. You can find the "Webmaster's Tools" here;
https://www.bing.com/webmasters/about/
Helpful tip Sign up for tracking in this order;
1. Google Analytics
2. Google Search Console
3 Bing Webmaster's Tools
Reason being the only one some may find difficult to sign up for will be Google Analytics for which ther is much help available. If done in the order above the searh console can be validated against Google Analytics then Bing Webmaster Tools will validate against the Search Console.
PS: You do not need a Plugin, and it is better if you do not use one, to sign up for Google Analytics.

So far all of my affiliated posts are about a specific product or as a review. I have never made an affiliated post that will link to a website in general (or if that is even p
Yes to both questions. You can indeed point an affiliate link to the home page of the merchant's site, though you will convert better when pointing to the specific product you are reviewing.
As far as Black Friday, you can definitely use affiliate links for that as well. In fact, that's highly recommended. Some merchants have already announced their BF sales; others will do so shortly. In the meantime you can write the articles with your current affiliate links, and most likely the landing pages will reflect any BF deals as soon as those are available.
Hi - that depends on the terms and conditions of the affiliate program you are using. If they offer that type of link, then yes, you can use it.

A webpage can be affiliated too. You can link to it if relevant to your niche.

So just for some clarification, as an example if I linked to Best Buy but not a specific product in Best Buy like a blender or something, I could still be able to affiliate link to Best Buy per say?
I meant more along the lines of affiliating to the home page of Best Buy and not a specific product. I do not know if you can make any money to linking to Best Buy home page and not a product is what I mean.
