Yep this is one way.
But it would be more efficient and faster if you used the Fetch tool in webmaster tools. You can submit up to 500 pages per month.
Click on Crawl, then Fetch As Google.

Right! ... but if you don't own the domain, you cannot do that :-)
This is specifically for - say - a SiteRubix user who wants to get indexed quickly :-)

Not at all! I don't think a lot of people know about fetch as google, so it's a good reminder!

I did not know you could do this! ... and I was being asked by a SiteRubix person how to let Google know about their site. Of course, being on WA and having links (presumably) on WA pointing to it, that will get it done eventually, but they wanted something faster.
This is that faster way :-)
Hopefully, it's helpful to folks. I bet someone other than myself also does not know about this.
