My website numbers goes up-down-up-down non-consistantly. I suspect is due to my own visits as well. Does anyone know how to get them to ignore my own visit?

Thanks for the question. I have been wondering the same thing. It looks like Kathy has us both covered. Thanks Cathy and Kathy. :-)
I just used the search bar (top of the screen) and got these Google Analytics IP filter Exclude your IP Address from GA
I get these "Ah, I've seen that somewhere" moments. When I look at my bookmarks it's always the one I didn't tag.
Thank you, Kathy. I just used this and once you get it figured out it is easy to do GA walks you through the process.
There is a way. I did it. But I can't remember how. I'm responding only so that I get copied on the replies, and then I'll tag it so I don't lose it again.

Thanks for asking such a great question. I am always going into my own site just to see what it looks like if any different than it does on dashboard viewing. I followed also followed the link Chris mentioned and very easy to follow. This is another reason why I love reading others blogs...issues because chances are I have the same issue or learn something new so I can share. Thanks WA community! By the way works like a charm....

This ..I will need to research. There are choices on the web, if you so choose, to shorten a URL, I am looking into those choices myself.
I'm curious Cathy. Do you type your posts completely out in WordPress or do you copy and paste it from a word processing program?
Amathews I type my post on notepad then copy and paste to word press. The site address I copy from Google Chrome and paste the link.
Try opening your post. Under the title, click the edit button next to the permalink. Then retype the end of your URL by hand, all lowercase, and don't forget the dashes in between the words.
Cathy,
There seems to be a lot of talk about this on Google, maybe you could find help there. It's way over my head, unfortunately, but I'm getting the impression that it has something to do with JS and PHP. Maybe that means something to you..
I know you probably don't want to focus on anything else until you solve this problem, but I wanted to share with you my experience with your site.
When I clicked on the link, I was given the page, but I couldn't read it because of the sign-up popup screen. And there was no way out of the popup, unless you either subscribed, or clicked to go to the homepage. Clicking on the homepage option did not allow me to read the article.
So I subscribed, then was given the "confirm your email" popup, which also would not get out of the way until I actually confirmed. So, I went and confirmed my email. But when I was taken back to your site, I was given the same subscribe popup and could not exit out of it. There is no close button or X to exit, at least not that I could see. So even subscribing, I never got to actually read the article you're talking about here.
I imagine this will tick off your readers and they will eventually give up rather than going back and trying to get around it. I would. But your site is actually really great, I wanted to see more.
Another thing, the email I got from you after subscribing was very good, but it was from "Cathy" with no mention of your website anywhere. I don't know if this was intended or not, but just thought you should know.
Okay Cathy, sorry to overload you here, I just don't want you to lose any customers.
Good luck to you.
Angie.
My sincere appreciation to you Angie for being frank on the short coming of my website. Which was what I was looking for on the other thread. As its late now and I am turning in. I will make the necessary changes first thing tomorrow morning. Once again. Thank you.
I don't know exactly why this is happening but I noticed that the menu link under Reviews takes me to a Page Not Found error. Also your website may be a little slow to load. You can check you load speed at https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/ ~Marion
It is utf code for U+FFFB ef bf bb INTERLINEAR ANNOTATION TERMINATOR. Don't ask me what that is but as long as it works don't worry about it.
The link works but you have a very annoying popup that asks me to subscribe. I didn't want to subscribe and clicked on the link below the form to get to your home page which is not the same page I was on.
Does it means that I will get it with every page i publish from now on? How to get rid of it?
Both links work the same way so I wouldn't worry about it. If you want to learn more about the code and what it does go to http://www.w3.org/International/questions/qa-byte-order-mark.en.php
It is a bit geeky, but I did find this understandable information:
The code will be add by note pad if you save your document in UTF-8 format. To remove the code If you need to remove the BOM, check whether your editor allows you to specify whether a UTF-8 signature is added or kept while you save the file. Such an editor provides a way of removing the signature by simply reading the file in then saving it out again. For example, in editors such as Notepad++ on Windows and TextWrangler on the Mac, it is possible to select the encoding from a list while using the Save As function. The list has options to save as UTF-8 with or without the BOM. Just choose the option without the BOM and save. Good Luck
Hello Cathy, I checked your page and it will not open to your post when I click the link. I noticed in your drop down menu under reviews that letter " Q " is missing so that's maybe the reason of your problem. So edit your menu for this page by writing the correct word " Quooz ". Hope this helps.

It's something in the settings, or the settings of a plug-in, but I'm not sure what you are using.

Hi. I have set up a signup page in one of my page to appear in about 5 seconds after landing. It worked for once. But never work again. Don't know whether if it works only once? O
Pop up works fine. This is next on my agenda, so if you have any tips how you did it I'd appreciate it.
Your pop up came up no problem and nicely centered just down from your header. Looked great.
