Akismet and All in One SEO Pack are showing that there is an update for these plug-ins. When I click on update is there anything that comes up that I need to change? or its doe
Before doing any updates to plugins I always go to the tools tab in my website dashboard and export my pages and posts in case the worst happens. Reloading a theme is easy, but if you don't save pages and posts then there is a lot of work lost.
I learned a very important step. I have never done that with an update. Thank you for that cautionary tip. It's a good one.

I'm not understanding. Did you download the Akismet plug-in? If you did, when you go to activate it, it will ask you to set up your account within WordPress. I did get an API code, but I also got a wordpress account as well. I forgot to click that I already had one...does that make any difference?
It shouldn't, but I really don't know. You should be able to activate from within your WordPress account. Maybe someone else here will know better what to do. Sorry.

Well I did fine creating admin new user id for my website but when creating my next website I create a new user id for that too right?
In my two websites, I have two users in each: Admin and Carla. Admin comes up automatically when you create the site. You have to go in and manually add another user. Kyle, in his training, says names are better than admin, more personal.
Agreed Carla.... .same with me, I also have two users in each Admin and Gary. You do have to create the named user (Gary or whatever) manually on each website.

Hi Gary thanks so much for helping me out...I'm assuming for each personal user name (which would be a constant) we have to use a new password for that specific website...Like I mention to Carla, I am enjoying learning again, it has been a long time..The brain is starting to absorb again...lol
Yes. To access your admin account, you can go in through WA. But to access your personal user, you will have to use the name and password combo you set when you set up the user.

However when you get your domain you can set it up to your domain
