Is Walmart the New Amazon?
Walmart has agreed to buy Jet.com for about $3 billion in cash and another $300 million in stock to sweeten the pot. Walmart is hoping to beef up their on-line presence with the acquisition, and grab a piece of Amazon's market which is about $100 billion a year.
Jet.com made their debut in July 2015. If you live in the U.S. I am sure you have seen the commercial with the top of peoples head blowing off in a purple cloud in amazement at the savings.
Jet.com CEO, Marc Lore has experience selling his startup businesses to larger companies. In 2010 he sold Diapers.com to Amazon for $500 million.
Walmart's Affiliate Program
Walmart.com has a great affiliate program that has all the same bells and whistles as Amazon. They also have a WordPress Plugin. Walmart has recently launched their "Shipping Pass" program to rival Amazon's "Prime".
One of the drawbacks for Walmart is their shipping policies. Walmart only ships to:
- The 50 U.S. states
- APO / FPO military addresses
- American Samoa
- Guam
- Northern Mariana Islands
- Puerto Rico
- U.S. Virgin Islands
International shipping can be accomplished with USgobuy.com.
The Walmart Affiliate Program is well worth the time to investigate if you are targeting a U.S. customer base.
Until next time,

I live in a state that does not accept Amazon. I have been using Walmart for a while. I have had some sales with there Affiliate Program. With the Jet intro, it will give me more items to list and post on my site, hopefully more income.

Great info Tim. I was wondering how it would play in the affiliate arena.
You really threw me a loop with that graphic! Now I know that you have the same sense of humor that I do!
We shall see. Couldn't pass up the graphic. Drives the point home don't you think? :)) Thanks for your time
Thanks for the heads up Tim, don't know much about the Walmart affiliate program but I'm sure they got tons of products to promote. ;0)
Walmart sounds good. I'm thinking about a Target affiliate program. I work hard at Target to get them redbards and stuff. For every redcard I get, the bigger the bonus the upper management get. I want the piece of the pie. I figure if Target makes off of me, then I might as well make money off of them. Then retire from them. LOL!
Thanks for stopping by Roger. I was about to check out the target affiliate program. Get it it back from them buddy!
Thanks Tim. I guess that guy has got some green, huh? I've seen that head blowing up commercial. It only takes one idea, like they say.
I imagine he is not hurting for sure Rick. That is a creative commercial. Thanks for stopping by

What percentge do they pay to affiliates?
I think it is about 4% on most items Marcus
Same as Amazon then.
Too bad they didn't pay more affiliate commission - they might do better if they did.
