I have spent hours trying to do this to no avail. I have an image downloaded and have edited it, but I can't get it to replace the image there.

Hey! Log into your website, once you get to the dashboard you want to click the three lines on the left hand corner at the top, scroll down to Appearance, once you click Appearance then click on Header, then click on add new image, once you add image, you can click the preview button above it to check out your site.

Hi Jamillah, thanks for the directions. I did what you recommended already, but it didn't work. I think the problem is because of my theme. The image came with the theme, not one that I chose.

I am seriously thinking that I want to open a new website and start all over.

I really appreciate your response to my question.

Dottie

Check out your theme attributes. It's not just cut and paste!

Thank you MKearns, I think the problem is with the theme. Do I need to create another website, or am I missing something?

I would explore a site built on another theme!

Thanks MKearns. I really like my niche and want to pursue it. When I set up a new website, I can still use the one I have been working with but redefine the theme.

Did you go into your Appearance menu, then Customize? There, you should be able to change the header image, but it really depends on the Theme you're using.

Yes, I went into Appearance menu, then to Header, then into Customize. Everything seemed fine until I tried to place it into my website. Do I need to start over with a new website? I think the problem may be that I am not allowed to change the header on the theme I chose.

You should look up that theme on google or look under Appearance > Themes, look at that theme's details to see where you can get info or contact for that theme so you can read about how to change the header image for that one.

Thanks littlemama. This gives me something new to try. I was about to scrap it and start over. Now maybe I can keep what I have already accomplished.

You never have to scrap it because you can just pick a new theme and change the theme very easily but yes, the theme is what makes changing header images easy or not. :)

I want to move 2 domains that I own to WA; how do I do that?

Hi Dorothy,

Since WA doesn't support .us, then I believe you're able to host them here.

You just need to set your nameservers to this with your domain registrar and then you can start building them with Site Builder after the nameservers are updated to:

NS1.MYWAHOSTING.COM
NS2.MYWAHOSTING.COM

Here's some training if you need it but you just do this on your current registrar: Please let me know if you have other questions, thanks!
Grace

Hola Dottie!

Here are a few posts that will answer some of your questions. Plus, Before you make that change you need to save all of your site information. Just changing your servers does not send the information from the other hosting company. That way what information is on the other servers that you have saved will be accessible to you to put into your WordPress theme. Please let me know if these are helpful or not. Thank you very much.

Best regards,

Keisi.

There are lots of additional details needed to assist properly.
1) Are there websites already built on these domains? If so, are they Wordpress sites?
2) If there are no sites on these domains, were they purchased within the last 60 days? If so, they cannot be transferred yet.
3) Are you aware you don't have to transfer a domain to host a site here? All you have to do is update the DNS at your registrar (where you purchased the domain name).

This is covered in the training as well as multiple blog posts - you can use the search bar above to find answers or respond here and I'll continue to help.

The domain I purchased from Namecheap has a suffix of .us. When I tried to transfer it to WA, I got a message that WA does not support . us.
I will continue with the lessons and then come back to this question later.
Thanks for your help.
Dottie

As Grace said above, you'll never be able to transfer the domain name. Just update the DNS at Namecheap to host it here
