Email, Monkeys and Flagpoles

The ever growing barrage of emails seems to be getting worse and is affecting all of us as it chews up valuable time and energy. Further, we are having to endure the nonsense of one of our own members who has gone rogue and is flooding our email systems with his, "Great news, a comment of yours.....". It almost feels like that old monkey chasing his tail around the proverbial ....flagpole.

The username of the fellow in question is Suphat Pasree. When you get his email, drop it right away. Don't bother opening. You are wasting time. What if about 10.000 of us sent him a PM? That might slow him up a bit. Just a one word message. Nothing unpleasant, of course.

What I wanted to get to everybody about is that I came across two good little ways to deal with all the email. There are a lot of good ideas out there. TopAchiever posted a good one just a couple days ago. That one involves selecting from Account Settings what you want to receive. Good to know. Gives you more control.

Having said that, the ones I found are:

HelenPDoyle has done a solid training and given us a way to avoid the scammers, like our friend. At the same time we can seriously reduce our time spent with emails. She discusses thoroughly Activities and Notifications and how they interface with email. Very helpful.

WilsonJeremy has written a post that takes out some of the confusion in Activities and Notifications and leaves you feeling more in control. Good video here.

Between these two posts and Top achievers, as well, that should make life a little easier.
Have a great weekend,

Dick

That name has come up before. I thought things had been explained to him! Maybe Kyle will straighten him out for good this time. Hope you're having a good weekend too Dick.

Blessings,
Debby

Thanks Debby. Kyle is on that problem.
Blessings back at you....Dick

Great food for thought. I know I get so much out of the good ones, just need to to stay away from all of the pointless ones!

Thanks Lynn. You are right. It's not easy but we have to pick and choose carefully. And there are a lot of good ones.

Thanks for sharing the great tips. Awesome title by the way.

Hi Mike. Thanks for reading. Don't have a clue where the title came from, just grabbed as it was flying by. Something I got from Heather--Freedom 1207.

Talked to Kyle this am and he is going to try and deal with this 'idjit'. Hopefully it can be done with minimal animosity and angst. I await his answer.

Hey Chef. Good work. You didn't waste any time.

My time is worth money or SOMETHING. I'll not let a miscreant, misfit, whatever you want to call him, waste it.

Your time is your life. It is worth everything. See the blog by the silly fool. You are right, Chef....Dick

I left a note on your site.

Thanks Dick, I know that name:) Luckily for me Gmail places all those simular likes under one click and gone >>

Hey Loes, that sounds like a good way to deal with it.

Hey Loes, have you done a training on this? I have to delete all my gmails one at a time, then again to permanently delete them. I knew there had to be a better way.

Thanks,
Debby

No Debby, it does it automatically from the start.

Mine does not!

Sorry:(

I would recommend that you unfollow them. You won't get their posts anymore

The thing is, Joy, that I never followed him. There is no posting. Only the message that a comment has been liked.

I just look for names I want to read and delete the rest. You're one of them, PG Jude, Loes, Halinphilly, joseph etc Mostly those in top tier. I give all the newbies a shot but the folks like this fellow you are talking about are just newbies, not knowing really what it's all about. I can't really get mad at foolish children,

I can tell, there are some that don't appreciate me calling them on their bull do either. I do tend to get my feathers ruffled especially at the spam nazis and the scam scaredys.

Good post Dick

Thanks jd. I look for your ideas also.

Thanks, Dick. Today is my day for new Blogs. I hope you enjoy the 2 that I posted today. Keep up the good work, my friend

Back at you jd.

Great tips, love your blog title! LOL! Got my attention!

Hey Pj. Actually I'm pretty sure you talked about the importance of a catchy title. You see I'm listening. Thanks

LOL! Well done young padiwan!!!! ;-)

Why thank you Masta Yoda. LOL and a dozen baked clams.

LOL! I love seafood!

I knew it. I knew it. See, I told you so. Didn't I tell you so? I love that stuff. The shrimpers here in SC--Charleston-- are are selling these little devils right off the docks for $10/pound!! Jumbo shrimp!! Whoa.

WOW!!!! That's nearly worth the drive alone! Love Charleston!!!

Really neat town. Now it looks like everybody likes Charleston. Actually I live across the river in Mt Pleasant. When we moved here there were only around 5000. Now, about 75,000. Nutsy, huh?

Oh my!!! Yea, it's crazy crowded now. And, that's why I live in NORTH Florida. :-)

Nice area. Did the Tyndall AFB thing when you were a young Yoda.

LOL! I was abroad when that all went down. Okay, I gotta get some writing done. You're so distracting! ;-) Go practice using the Force on those shrimp!

Me too. No, have to make dinner. Enjoyed it much. You are a Pip my friend.

Backatcha brother! Always a treat!

Thanks for the additional tips!

Thanks for sharing :)
