Hi all, I just finished my about me page and thought I would share it with everyone. I called my site wormicompost.com. I welcome any comments or advice.

Thanks Dianna

Hi Wormi friends and welcome!

Why compost?

I've been composting with red wriggler worms since July 2017. My mum was passionate about recycling and reusing items. She frequently told me what could be recycled and which bin to put items in. When mum passed away, I inherited her recycling system.

At the same time my local council brought in a new rubbish disposal system that emphasized green waste and recycling. While learning about this new system, I also learnt that up to 70% of rubbish sent to land fill is green waste that turns into methane gas when it decomposes anaerobically.

This was the beginning of my desire to compost my green waste.

Why worms?

I tried three composting methods within the first year - vermicomposting, hot composting and bokashi. Bokashi resulted in a goopy, smelly mess which either needed to be buried in the ground or put through another composting system. Hot composting worked ok but it was lumpy and papery and sadly, didn't look like the store bought compost at all.

On the other hand, vermicomposting resulted in a lovely, spongey compost that I enjoyed running my hands through and had tons of beneficial qualities for my soil and plants.

What next?

My vision is to promote vermicomposting, and composting in general, to the world. If every person does a little bit then we can make a big difference to our planet.

My goal is to try out different worm farms to find the pros and cons of each system. I will share what worked for me, what didn't and what was an epic failure. I will monitor the progress of my worm farms and report on their output over time.

Now, its time to get our hands dirty. Have a look around, pick a system that will work for you and lets get composting! I would love to hear stories of your own composting adventures, so feel free to comment or post below.

Congrats Dianna, for posting your first great blog within Wealthy Affiliate. Well done and to be continued.

To your success,
Desmond

Dianna, I like your way of writing very much, personal and engaging.

Harvey below has given you great advice.

Here is a very good post written by MarkBa here at WA: After having read that post, I changed my About me page and followed his advice.

I would also put a foto of yourself on this page, for example outside in the garden or something that emphasizes your passion for the topic you have chosen.

Keep going, you've started out just wonderful!
:-)

Thanks for your advice and recommendations Pernilla I read marks training and find it helpful I’m definitely going back to rework it. I just need to finish my first post first.
Cheers and thank you for taking the time to read and review my post

Hello Dianna, it is a good post about your niche, and why you started the website, but very little about Dianna herself. One of the things we all want from our website is to build trust with our visitors. With trust, they will return and eventually buy something from the affiliate programs. Most of us start to trust someone once we know something about them.

Thanks Harvey, you've given me food for thought. I'll work on adding more about me. I will being by fixing up my introduction post on this site. That will give me some ideas.
