Day Dreaming

Greetings boys and girls. I’m on top form today, nearly a nine out of ten. A ten would be bouncing off the walls and I’m waiting for those to be replastered from the last ten.

What a day for a day dream - What a day for a day dreamin boy

I think that was Lovin Spoonful from goodness knows when, the black and white TV days. I can remember when it took two people to pick up a television, now its on my phone.

Anyway, I started the week with a page full of things to do, far too much for just one week. I had a video to finish, and another one to get started, I had to research AI and text to speech software on the internet and YouTube – why is it so difficult to find a text to speech with a selection of British English voices? And worst of all, La Piece de la Resistance for my busy week. I had to get my accounts up to date and sent over to the accountant so that I can be a model citizen and pay my taxes – booo! And put up with the effects of my leaukemia, visit the doctor, more booo!

Where to start, I was overwhelmed on Monday morning, all this stuff to do, and then a piece of paper fell out of a book as I took it from the shelf. It was a page from an old desk calendar, something that I had saved for years, apparently. It read …

You will never find time for anything - If you want time make it

Gosh, did that give a sea change in attitude or what? I was re-energised, I set myself a plan to get the jobs list cleared by Friday evening.

By lunchtime Friday I had cleared the decks, all done, finito, finished. Everything put to bed.

How did I do it, I don’t know.

I’ve been having a sweet dream - I’ve been dreamin since I woke up today

And the cream on the cake, I’m being treated to a Fish and Chip supper on Saturday with a bottle or two of wine thrown in.

So folks, if you need the time, just make the time and get stuff done.

Take care all, enjoy the weekend – gosh – it’s a FriSatSu. I wonder how Jeff is doing.

There would be real value in creating a time machine. Not one that could take you back in time or forward in time, but one that could manufacture (make) time. Since there isn't a Machine that can do this that I know of, I guess I will just keep on creating my lists and making the time to do everything on them!

Great post, Bux.

Karin

ha ha. Yes, we all need a forty hour day. I too have a list for Sunday, I'm about half way through it and now it has stopped raining and the great outdoors is calling so I guess the list will not be finished today. Monday sounds good.
C'est la vie.
Bux

I'm ecstatic to hear that you are on top form today Bux and what a great result in getting everything done before time!!

JUST DO IT springs to mind here....

On that note I need to get something done!!

Thanks Nick. I guess you will radio in when you've finished that urgent task.
Take care and enjoy the coming weekend.
Bux

I managed to knock out three new posts and prepared the next nine for the coming days!!!

A pretty productive end to a Friday in my book!

You as well buddy! :-)

Great post. The fish and chips, plus wine wins me over!

It's got to be done sometimes. Fish and chips used to be a Friday night staple when we were kids, now it's priced as a luxury.
I met some folk from your area on Tuesday, they had heard about Knight's chippy in Glastonbury and were not going home without eating there.
Best of luck Dave.
Bux

Very wise words, Bux!

Thanks for the picker upper! Now I gotta go make some time!

Tim 🎼

Haven't we all. I could do with a forty hour day at times. As I've got in front, I'm going to try and steal a march on next weeks projects.

Happy FriSatSu Bux! If I don't hear anything from Monica in another 7 hours, will msg here. She was going to take Jeff to the VA today for some scheduled tests.

Mel

Thanks Mel. Just let him know that he might be off air, but he is still thought about. Wish him well, and you too, keep safe.
Bux

Will do Bux!

Mel

Amen to that, Bux!

Thanks Howard. Have you ever had fish and chips.
Bux

Yes, Sir! Love them with a good beer!

My mouth is watering already and I still have nearly 30 hours to go.
What part of the world are you in this week.

We have the RV in northern Michigan in Petoskey. The weather has been beautiful: in the seventies and low eighties, but today, in the high fifties. And you?

Rain, rain, rain in Somerset today. A better day promised tomorrow,
Its about 15 degrees here, that must about 60 degrees in American money so pretty much the same.
If you need water, we have plenty here. I live in the City of Wells which jas, believe it or not, a lot of wells and water flows down the street in gulleys 24/7. They rivers and gulleys will be well full when this comes down off the hills.
You have some nice names for towns over there, Petoskey. I wonder how it got its name.
Bux

Somerset sounds like it's near where our fur-kid Winston's lineage began. He's a Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

And, since you asked, Bux:

Petoskey, Michigan was named after Chief Ignatius Petosega (1787–1885), an Odawa (Ottawa) leader and businessman who founded the community. The name "Petoskey" is an English translation of Petosega's Native American Ottawa name, which is said to mean "where the light shines through the clouds" in the Odawa language. Petosega's name translates to "rising sun," "rays of dawn," or "sunbeams of promise" because of the bright light that shone on his face when he was born.

This per ChatGPT! 100% AI content. LOL

Very close in American terms Howard. Pembroke is on the same level as me but about 150 miles due West. maybe 4 hours drive each way. A pretty part of South Wales, very rugged coast and popular for holidays.
Over here, ten miles is ""how far????""
I believe in the States anything up to 500 miles is just around the corner.
I think the late Queen had Pembroke corgis, lots of them.
Bux

Cool! I've only been to London but loved the country.

Yes, the Queen had Corgi's: her favorite breed!

You are correct! Some people in the US drive for an hour or more just to get to work. There have been times I got in the RV and drove 600 miles in a day and not even get out of one state, like Texas. LOL

Wow, 600 miles here is a different country whichever direction, from any starting point. i don't think I would last long making the same one hour journey every day for many years, yet I do know folk who do it and never complain.
Is Texas really that big. I can't imagine it.
