String a can’t I together sentence. What a strange thing to happen, does anyone else ever have the same thing.I woke up the other day and all I could see in my mind’s eye was a tray of dried peas. Dried Peas rattling and rolling around this metal tray. I’d obviously had something to do with dried peas recently, why else would they be in my head.Later that day I opened the freezer and a bag of frozen peas had burst open. The freezer draw was awash with frozen peas. I emptied the

I just wondered how many of the WA community have a video voice.I make educational videos for my YouTube channel and do the talky bits myself. However, I’m from the North of England and I could easily slip back into a rich Northern accent. Ilkley Moor bar t’at and all that.My question is … does it matter what the accent is. I can’t ever hide my accent but I can try and moderate it so that folks can understand it. And if the accent doesn’t matter, would it be under

Changing LessonsGood day to you all. Lots of busy days for me and like most of us, there are times when I feel I could have got more out of the day. Waddling along on my morning walk the other day, this got me thinking about how I used to teach the electricians entrusted (rather foolishly) to my care and there is a useful suggestion here for WA too.I always started my lessons at 8.30 am prompt. My reason was simple, there is a set amount of work and learning to get through each day, if you want

Cooking up successWhilst I don’t fancy myself as an exceptional cook, I can turn out a mean curry, a nice pot of rice and some crackin’ soups. Don’t try the lemon soup though, that was more like paint stripper; I upset a lot of friends over that. As you can guess, I like to watch cookery competitions, just how do they achieve those artistic finishing touches; mine never look like that.In almost every series there is at least one promising chef who gets knocked out at the early

Over the HorizonFriday the 21st, just gone, would have been my Dad’s 96thbirthday. I remember him every day in a good way. I often think of the father and son times, the fun times that we had together when I was a kid, 6 or 8 years old, and how I thought that these days would never end. When I was sat in the church on Friday I was reminded of one memorable occasion when we were stood together on the beach, hand in hand, listening to the roar of the tide as it shifted the pebbles along the

Bat Out of HellSo sad to hear of the death of Meat Loaf. What an iconic artist and my life is peppered with memories evoked by his songs. Truly classic songs.I read his life story a couple of years ago and he really struggled to break into the musical world. Meat Loaf was not a name invented for the stage, it was a school playground name. He’d always been called Meat Loaf. His songs were rejected by one producer after another, but he never gave up searching for that break. He was told by o

Hello everybody, hope you are well.I’ve just been reminded of another great way to improve your reader interaction and to pad your blogs out.I read an article last year about describing actions and scenes as you write. Don’t just say “he sat in a chair”. Describe the chair, the rug it was on, talk about the cushion on the chair and how it creaked as he lowered his bulky frame into it.And so it went on with examples and practice paragraphs. I know you would all love a cop

Hello everybody. Hope you are all well and up for the action.I want to share with you a little tip that will help you to interact with your clients and viewers much more effectively. We were always taught, all those years ago, that when talking to a group of people about a campaign a plan of action, or any training session to tell the good people three times.First. Tell them briefly what you are going to be talking about.Second. Then tell them in detail about it. Cover all the points that you wa

More Smiles per HourGuess what I’ve been doing today. Smiling. No particular reason, just smiling for smiles sake.I woke up this morning with some song in my head about wanting to be unhappy but never having the time. I must have heard it recently and it’s stuck, but that’s all the words I can remeber and all that I know about it. Can anyone help. So, I thought, I’m going to have a smiley day. If I was attempting to smile all through the day, was it going to be a cheeky li

Hiya everyone. Hope you are all well.I see the website was down again today, which reminded me of a blog I promised to write.A few years ago, I was driving to see some friends in Normandy. It was a good six hours drive from the village in the Loire valley. I hadn’t seen Geoffroy and Alicia for over a year and there was a significant amount of wine to be consumed over the weekend. But, as long I was back in Suevres for Monday afternoon, all would be well. There were enough people working o
