Can I afford to invest in Wealthy Affiliate, probably not but...

This is my second month as a premium user. Have I made anything yet - no. Can I afford to be a premium member - probably not. So why did I become one.

Because I've found with myself, and a lot of you are probably like me, that if I don't have any sort of financial investment in a project or a website or a money making adventure, then I'll probably lack the commitment to follow it through. Like most people if I don't have some sort of ownership of what I'm involved in, then I tend to put it on the back burner when I'm looking at my priorities.

Today's a good example, I could be at the beach right now enjoying our hot southern hemisphere summer, but right now in the back of my mind is that I've spent $68US so far on wealthy affiliate and I still haven't created a website. If I had paid nothing for it I'd probably be at the beach. I'm not - I'm here. I've decided to dedicate today to getting something happening on here.

The only reason I've mentioned money as a motivator is because that tends to speak to us all, but it could be time as well.

So can I afford to be a premium member of wealthy affiliate - financially probably not - motivationally totally a YES.

I'm also investing into my future, and so I see this as an investment.

Also I've done a lot of things by myself in the past, and partially succeeded. Wealthy Affiliate premium gives me the ability to work with a team. Even in my offline businesses I've found that even as a sole trader / owner of a business you need to invest in building relationships with others who can help you!

By the way I'm new to wealthy affiliate and have had zero association with either Karl or Carson in the past.

Hello danish888, AWESOME blog! Newbie here :)yay!! All support are welcome and I'm looking forward to learning, achieving my highest goals, becoming friends and commerce and of course, making sum money:)!

Hi there,

Since Kyle has gracious offered his assistance on any issue here goes:
===========================================
Hi Kyle,
First of all I would like to compliment you on this site as a great source material to get going.

Whilst I find your offer "GET MORE From Our "Out of this World" Premium Membership!
Try Your First Month Premium for ONLY $19" very generous,
I have some issues with the $47 monthly fee thereafter.

Thus, I have some questions I would like to pose to you.

In my understanding of creating a successful Online Business, you need:
- A website (Niche)
- A landing page for list generation
- Autoresponder to manage the list (follow up etc)
- Creation of Niche content to market the products
- Product suppliers such Amazon / Clickbank etc
- Lead generation through SEO / Viral blogging etc etc
- Website Hosting

Does the Premium package cater for all of the above?

From your experience in this business, can you give me an average estimate of hours needed to go through all the training that will satisfy above listed requirements?

In my situation, under normal circumstances, I have at the most 1 hour a day to devote to this enterprise thus for say 100 hours of training/website tinkering I would require 3 months @ $47 which signifies an investment of at least 110 dollars before being up and running.

In my present situation, it is rather difficult to handle such an investment thus I have to be sure of making the right decisions, the ambition and motivation are all there.

Kind Regards and to all our success

It depends on what your expectations are Jonicas. The tools are here at WA and it is up to you how quickly you work to achieve your goals. For the tools you seek you can look around for free. Your list understanding requirement is different to mine but I advise buying your own domain name.Good luck in your ventures.

Hi Danish, Your overall concern is a very interesting one and has to be on a lot of peoples’ minds. It is the type of question deserving serious attention. My comment here would be too lengthy for that. I am inspired to writing a more detailed blog than a comment here would provide. The title might be “Planning the Plan toward Successful Goals. My goal for this blog is one week from today making it March 17, St. Pat’s day.

Here is the idea, though. The long term goal needs to be broken down to its essential components. From there it needs breaking down to shorter term goals easier on which to focus because they are not too distant. These are usually referred to as milestones. Each component needs to be considered as integral and essential to the overall plan but managed on its own merits and concurrent with the end goal.
1. Might be completion of the training modules as prescribed by WA. The training is like a big tool box containing all the aids needed for success from the fundamental basics to the more precise skills. Without a good grasp of it, we just flounder around wasting precious time sending attainment of goals further into the future. Fortunately for us, the training regimen at WA is so well organized and logically sequential that this part of planning becomes fairly simple. But, we need to establish the milestones with deadlines around it. Practically speaking, this should be flexible to allow adjustments.
2. might be goal setting itself, monetary development of other personal skills such as time management and others.
3. might be settling on our chosen niche market
4. might be Word Press and building our web site
5. might be marketing our web site
This may sound complex. Believe me, it is not. In fact it does away with complexities of trial and error as we move forward. It will allow us to achieve our goals much more quickly. And we know we are not alone. There is no unworthy or silly question in this community. Why sit around with our chin cupped in our hands when answered questions lift the veil of uncertainty and let the light in. I can’t begin to tell you how often I’ve stubbornly tried to figure things out all by myself while trying to master my computer. I thought a search engine was a locomotive. I don’t make that mistake any longer. On the contrary, I have become grateful for all the friends I've met.

Would you and or others like to see a blog like this? If so, my goal for it is set. It could be the bees’ knees. Good luck of the Irish to you. – Al Hurley

Good points, Torben! You'll make it if you just press on!

Pat

You are one month ahead of me with Premium sub, there's so much info here and loads of demos, i see no reason why one should not make money with WA

Hi Veejay totally agree with you. Almost finished my first website.

Oh man, I have the same thought.

Commitment is a great reason to go premium. It's part of the reason why I did it myself, and purchased a year, although another big part was knowing that I need and will use the resources here. Think of all the other things you spend money on and how much potential good you'll gain from WA. It makes the cost much easier to accept.

Yep agree with you, but you might have misinterpreted what I said. I'm quite happy with paying and have given the reasons why.

Hi Torben. I think that there are two ways to look at WA when you continue on with the payments. These are, you are either building a business to make a living from (part or full time) or you are using it as a means of a hobby. Depending on the individuals needs or wants, decides which one; so there is no right or wrong answer.

I'm a member for several reasons. The two most important are that I had to have a reputable site and training to learn about IM and, I know that I couldn't survive on my own - like minded people around me are a must.

Making a financial commitment as you write, can have a massive influence on whether or not you will see the training here at WA through.

Totally agree with you Annie. One of the reason I buy financially into something like WA, is because I see it as a investment for the future. Have a great 2014.

Hi Torben.

I don't know many people who have disposable income - but "investable" income, yep - I can go without a coffee or tea every day to pay for it - I'm a long way off too, but I can see through the training and the support here - and there is no other place like it that I'm aware of.

All the best, Mark

Totally agree with you Mark. Have a great 2014 as well :)

Last year I was into RC (remote control) everything and could justify spending the money (with planes always a catastrophe) and just spent $5k on a windsurfer, which is a thrill with associated danger but less danger than the previous hang gliding. It is not so hard for me to decide to take the premium membership knowing it will make, with my learned input, an excellent living for me. When spending on RC I was unemployed with time and now unfortunately I am in management with restricted time. So the challenge from previous businesses, which I owned, is that they consumed pretty much all of every day. If I can own a viable business that works with my hobbies, that is perfect. I am thinking that the annual premium membership at WA is great value
