Following up on Followers
I am very committed to following back every time someone follows me, so I periodically double check all my followers to see if there's anyone I am not following. I did so again tonight and was surprised to find that there were about 6 people that I somehow missed.
That really annoys me.
Part of the reason I have as much email as I do is that I haven't filtered out notifications of being followed. I check all my email carefully and ensure that I always follow everyone who follows me, so I have no idea how I could miss anyone, unless I don't get a notification for some reason.
It's not the end of the world-- I catch them eventually-- but I feel that anyone who takes the time to follow me should be followed back. So, if you are as fussy about this as I am, remember to periodically review your list of followers. You may just have a few you don't know about.

I as well do the same thing! I'm not about to miss a single follower! Not on my watch! Lol! I think sometimes they slip through the cracks though cause they dont come through my emails and I am very careful about my emails! SO i agree with you! Best wishes! Talk again soon!

I, too, have had this problem before. It could just be that I missed the notification of the follow. With all the other notifications in there, too, it is almost blinding. Currently I have 132 blog notifications in my inbox, dating back to June 15. That does not include questions posted, or training added. So I have taken to checking my following and follower lists just about every other day. I try to get to it every day but that just does not work out right now! And I have been on here all morning, since about 6:15 am.
I follow anyone who follows me. It is the right thing to do, in my opinion. :)

I missed two days or so recently and when I came back, I looked at the notifications and thought "well, I guess I know what I'm doing all day today..."
Yes, true. I try to follow the person immediately, and still there might be people missing. I check that on the list of those following me.:)
Something I got in to the habit of doing early on was checking followers when I logged on for the first time each day and following back, and, I've just followed you Craig so follow me back! lol ;-) Del

It was the first thing I did when I saw your comment. Even before I started reading, I noticed the green button beside your name and thought "this guy is commenting and I'm not even following him! Gotta fix that!"
I never even thought about reviewing my followers until about 3 months ago.The first time I did it, I had a lot of people that were following me without a follow back. I was really surprised and decided that I would have to review periodically.
True enough. I run through my email faster these days so that I don't get bogged down with it, but I do my best not to miss anyone.
