The Power of Video on Facebook

I have to be honest with you. I've never been a fan of videos on Facebook.

When they started appearing on my personal newsfeed I found it very annoying and intrusive, especially the videos that auto-played.

But I know I'm a dinosaur and have to respect the popularity of videos on a newsfeed. I also have to embrace it for my business.

Yesterday, I did that.

Thanks to Karen (https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/kdforsman) for the training on Lumen5, I finally tackled it and added videos to my FB Page. I also ran a small FB Ad campaign using one of the videos and the results are below.

  • Reached: 750
  • Sales: 0
  • Page likes: 3

You can watch the video I made on YouTube if you're interested.

So, you can see almost half the people reached actually viewed the video. That's quite impressive in my opinion. Viewing it isn't the same as CTR but still - it's a good start I think.

Then I got to thinking.....this could be a good way of adding a video to any post on your website. Let's say you can't find a relevant video to add.

You can make your own from your post (changing it slightly) and upload to YouTube, tagging it appropriately and linking back to your post. Win Win!

If you haven't watched Karen's training yet, give it a go! Link is above for Lumen5.

ATB,

Craig.

Hi Craig,

When you shared the video on Facebook, did you add hashtags with the # or without?

Hi Yvonne, I didn't add any hashtags.

Yeah Craig, no doubt. I've noticed that when creating videos for my Facebook ads, they've always received more engagement than others without a video.

I will check out Lumen5, courtesy of Karen. Thanks to you both!

Thanks for sharing...

Well done. Great result

Thanks Lawrence! Lumen5 is really easy to use.

Before I use it I would have to have a message. :)
